Resumo: | Cultivated pastures represent the best alternative to supply the demand for nutrients and provide quality roughage to animals, increasing daily weight gain and improving the efficiency of the production system. To maintain forage quality in periods with irregular rainfall, supplementary irrigation is an alternative to ensure production, however, it is necessary to know the economic viability of the activity so that profits are maximized. The objective of the present study is to evaluate the biometric characteristics and the economic viability of Sudan grass irrigated by conventional sprinkling, under different irrigation depths, trying to define which scenario presents the highest profitability, under three cuts of uniformity (50, 80 and 110 days after sowing). The work was carried out in the municipality of Santa Maria, RS, sowing was carried out in November of the years 2015 and 2016. To verify the economic viability of conventional sprinkler irrigation, the efficiency of water use by the crop was determined, making it possible to determine the net revenues for each treatment. The forage supply was 4% of the animal live weight, being considered 300 kg animals, different average gains of 0.5, 1.0 and 1.5 kg animal-1 day-1 were simulated for the conversion of mass production drought in daily animal weight gain, considering the average value of the kilogram of meat paid to the producer R $ 6.50, to determine the gross income. To determine production costs, they were divided into fixed and variable, related and unrelated to irrigation. Conventional sprinkler irrigation proved to be viable in most of the scenarios tested, with the highest net revenue in the treatment with the irrigation depths with 100% of reference evapotranspiration in both years, with full water supplementation being recommended to obtain the greatest profitability. |

Para manter a qualidade forrageira em períodos com precipitação irregular, a irrigação suplementar é uma alternativa para assegurar a produção, porém, é necessário conhecer a viabilidade econômica da atividade para que os lucros sejam maximizados. O objetivo do presente estudo é avaliar as características biométricas e a viabilidade econômica do capim sudão irrigado por aspersão convencional, sob diferentes lâminas de irrigação, buscando definir qual cenário apresenta a maior lucratividade, sob três cortes de uniformização (50, 80 e 110 dias após a semeadura). O trabalho foi realizado no município de Santa Maria, RS, a semeadura foi realizada em novembro dos anos de 2015 e 2016. Para verificação da viabilidade econômica da irrigação por aspersão convencional, foi determinada a eficiência de utilização da água pela cultura, possibilitando determinar as receitas líquidas para cada tratamento. A oferta forrageira foi de 4% do peso vivo animal, sendo considerados animais de 300 kg, foram simulados diferentes ganhos médios de 0,5, 1,0 e 1,5 kg animal-1 dia-1 para a conversão da produção de massa seca em ganho diário de peso animal, sendo considerado o valor médio do quilograma de carne pago ao produtor R$ 6,50, para a determinação da renda bruta. Para a determinação dos custos de produção, os mesmos foram divididos em fixos e variáveis, em relacionados e não relacionados à irrigação. A irrigação por aspersão convencional apresentou-se viável na maioria dos cenários testados, com a maior receita líquida no tratamento com a lâmina de irrigação com 100% da Evapotranspiração de referência em ambos os anos, sendo recomendado a suplementação hídrica plena para a obtenção da maior lucratividade.Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior - CAPESporUniversidade Federal de Santa MariaCentro de Ciências RuraisPrograma de Pós-Graduação em Engenharia AgrícolaUFSMBrasilEngenharia AgrícolaAttribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivatives 4.0 Internationalhttp://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0/info:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessCustos de produçãoPastagens cultivadasOferta forrageiraProduction costsCultivated pastureForage supplyCNPQ::CIENCIAS AGRARIAS::ENGENHARIA AGRICOLAViabilidade técnica e econômica da produção de forragem do capim sudão irrigado por aspersão convencionalTechnical and economic viability of forage production in sudan grass irrigated by conventional aspersioninfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersioninfo:eu-repo/semantics/doctoralThesisPeiter, Marcia Xavierhttp://lattes.cnpq.br/4072803412132476Robaina, Adroaldo DiasParizi, Ana Rita CostenaroGirardi, Leonita BeatrizTorres, Rogério RicaldeGlasenapp, Sirleihttp://lattes.cnpq.br/5346527570408929Mezzomo, Wellington500300000008600600600600600600aa9a3730-307d-44a2-8042-8c43bcf8e4b1e8a75448-ebc2-4ff0-b413-67f282f25399b3a282ad-3e3e-42b1-b88c-5bc23251b46277bb2b95-c655-4750-af6d-91e3876163a7497ea00a-3a27-4e30-9097-c6fca682cd8566385ca7-bb99-4c0f-883c-a806822bc3bc50607143-6931-45e3-93e7-78bf84e19e04reponame:Biblioteca Digital de Teses e Dissertações do UFSMinstname:Universidade Federal de Santa Maria (UFSM)instacron:UFSMORIGINALTES_PPGEA_2021_MEZZOMO_WELLINGTON.pdfTES_PPGEA_2021_MEZZOMO_WELLINGTON.pdfTese de Doutoradoapplication/pdf3055190http://repositorio.ufsm.br/bitstream/1/23343/1/TES_PPGEA_2021_MEZZOMO_WELLINGTON.pdfb402b240855e36d9aa87ed0d2c0ccf4cMD51CC-LICENSElicense_rdflicense_rdfapplication/rdf+xml;
