Resumo: | In old age there are problems that arise in the life of the elderly, and that permeate between biological, psychological and social aspects. There is a need to enable problem solving and reconstruction of lives, when we refer to aging, and especially the old age. Within this perspective, the elderly groups are a positive form of programs for the elderly, with the purpose of promoting social interaction, leisure time, skills development and learning opportunities. And they are important tools conducive to the development of sociability, since they are spaces that contemplate the diversity and uniqueness of the elderly. The study aimed to analyze the relationships of sociability among the elderly, starting from the participation in a third age group, in the municipality of Santa Maria. This study was based on researches in the areas of aging and sociability, mainly in the works that investigated the old age and the old age groups, and in the data obtained from structured and semi-structured interviews. Eleven elderly women living in Santa Maria - RS, from the Grisalhas da Primavera and Reviver groups, participated in the study. The interviews were conducted individually and recorded at home. The reports were transcribed and later analyzed according to the Content Analysis method. The elderly groups meet two to three times a week, with the main objective of performing physical exercises, the composition of the groups is almost exclusively composed of women - and having some men in one of the groups and groups perform: teas of fellowship, dances, walks and dinners. The interviewees are close to the headquarters of the elderly, have a low level of schooling, average income of two minimum wages, reside mostly alone, report health as good or great, present several chronic diseases, but these diseases do not cause them difficulties in the physical exercise practices. As for the social network, the majority of the elderly presented a greater amount of social relations of affective proximity with the members of the elderly group that participate. The perception of aging throughout life, as well as the period prior to its entry into the elderly group, show changes, before a negative image of old age (loneliness, isolation, widowhood, health problems and decreased autonomy and independence). And they have a positive image of old age (health, withdrawal from loneliness, increase of social relations, exit from the home environment, pleasure and friendship), when associated with participation in a third age group, from the perspective of sociability. The relationships of sociability, in the old age groups, have their founding element in the practice of physical exercise and extend beyond this with activities of sociocultural animation (domingueiras, walks, confraternizations, among others). They have as meanings space of coexistence, construction and strengthening of the ties of friends, meetings of joy and fun and renewal of living and aging. |

Existe a necessidade de viabilizar a resolução de problemas e a reconstrução de vidas, quando nos referimos ao envelhecimento, e principalmente a fase da velhice. Dentro dessa perspectiva, os grupos de terceira idade são uma forma positiva de programas para os idosos, com a finalidade de promover a interação social, a ocupação do tempo livre, o desenvolvimento de habilidades e oportunidades de aprendizagem. E são importantes ferramentas propicias ao desenvolvimento da sociabilidade, pois são espaços que que contemplam a diversidade e a singularidade das pessoas idosas. O estudo objetivou analisar as relações de sociabilidade entre os idosos, a partir da participação em grupo de terceira idade, no município de Santa Maria. Este estudo fundamentou-se em pesquisas das áreas do envelhecimento e sociabilidade, principalmente nos trabalhos que investigaram a velhice e os grupos de terceira idade, e nos dados obtidos a partir de entrevistas estruturadas e semiestruturadas. Participaram da pesquisa 11 idosas, residentes em Santa Maria – RS, dos grupos de terceira idade Grisalhas da Primavera e Reviver. As entrevistas foram realizadas individualmente e gravadas a domicilio. Os relatos foram transcritos e posteriormente analisados conforme o método de Análise de Conteúdo. Os grupos de terceira idade se reúnem entre duas a três vezes por semana, com o objetivo principal da realização de exercícios físicos, a composição dos grupos é quase exclusivamente composta por mulheres - e possuindo alguns homens em um dos grupos e os grupos realizam: chás de confraternização, bailes, passeios e jantares. As entrevistadas residem próximas a sede dos grupos de terceira idade, possuem baixo grau de escolaridade, renda média de dois salários mínimos, residem principalmente sozinhas, relatam a saúde como boa ou ótima, apresentam várias doenças crônicas, mas essas doenças não lhes causam dificuldades nas práticas de exercícios físicos. Quanto a rede social das, a maior parte das idosas apresentaram uma maior quantidade de relações sociais de proximidade afetiva com os integrantes do grupo de terceira idade que participam. A percepção do envelhecimento ao longo da vida, bem como o período anterior a sua entrada no grupo de terceira idade, mostram mudanças, antes de imagem negativa da velhice (solidão, isolamento, viuvez, problemas de saúde e diminuição de autonomia e independência). E passam a ter uma imagem positiva da velhice (saúde, afastamento da solidão, aumento das relações sociais, saída do ambiente domiciliar, prazer e amizade), quando associada a participação em grupo de terceira idade, a partir da perspectiva da sociabilidade. As relações de sociabilidade, nos grupos de terceira idade, tem seu elemento fundante na prática de exercício físico e se estendem para além deste com atividades de animação sociocultural (domingueiras, passeios, confraternizações, entre outros). Têm como significados espaço de convivência, construção e fortalecimento dos laços de amizades, encontros de alegria e diversão e renovação do viver e envelhecer.porUniversidade Federal de Santa MariaCentro de Educação Física e DesportosPrograma de Pós-Graduação em GerontologiaUFSMBrasilEducação FísicaAttribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivatives 4.0 Internationalhttp://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0/info:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessEnvelhecimentoSociabilidadeGrupos de terceira idadeAgingSociabilityThe elderly groupsCNPQ::CIENCIAS DA SAUDE::EDUCACAO FISICAGrupos de terceira idade e sociabilidade: um estudo no município de Santa Maria, RSThe elderly and sociability groups: a study made in Santa Maria, RSinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersioninfo:eu-repo/semantics/masterThesisAcosta, Marco Aurélio de Figueiredohttp://lattes.cnpq.br/6715907233036608Portella, Marilene Rodrigueshttp://lattes.cnpq.br/5139810903269611Siqueira, Monalisa Dias dehttp://lattes.cnpq.br/0994530332510835http://lattes.cnpq.br/5181339674354478Lima, Tiago de Vargas4009000000026001ace7513-d737-438c-9d17-bb9c95429c537a7b62a1-7126-4852-a401-4873409b20e330ee694c-bf79-491e-8ace-fc5360212aef84844ecf-dda1-4774-a543-37ab5fcff3a8reponame:Biblioteca Digital de Teses e Dissertações do UFSMinstname:Universidade Federal de Santa Maria (UFSM)instacron:UFSMCC-LICENSElicense_rdflicense_rdfapplication/rdf+xml;
