Resumo: | The pavement is considered a finite multiple layer system, subject to stresses, strains and displacements from the cyclical traffic requests. The subgrade, as it is the foundation of a pavement structure, must have a support capacity compatible with the intensity and frequency with which it is requested. So, it is fundamental the study of the behavior of soils used as subgrade materials, especially through its resistance and deformability, as well as the factors that influence these properties. The main objective of this study is to evaluate the behavior of four soils with different geological origin, considering its resistance and deformability, for employment in road subgrades in the state of Rio Grande do Sul. The methodology used in this study consists of physical and mechanical testing, chemical analysis, obtainment of the characteristic curves of the soils, direct shear strength tests and triaxial tests with repeated loads. Besides the complete characterization of these, it was performed numerical simulations, to assess the performance of soils under study in the foundation of a standard pavement, dimensioned through the DNIT method. The limits described in standard for use of the soils as a subgrade material were satisfied, showing expansion values lower than 2% and California Bearing Ratio- CBR ranging from 10% to 16%. The resilience modules were obtained by triaxial tests with repeated loads, being the compound model the one that best describes the resilient behavior of soils, because it considers the state of stresses acting on the structure. In addition to the evaluation of the shear strength of the soil, it was also evaluated the influence of moisture content on this property. In general, analyzing the Mohr failure line there is a reduction in the shear strength of the material with moisture addition. With a reduction of 2% in the optimal content, the shear strength of these increases considerably. The mechanistic analysis, carried out with the help of AEMC tool and the software AASHTOWare Pavement ME Design, allowed to assess the mechanical response of the soil when used in subgrade of a pavement, besides highlighting the importance of resilient modulus behavior of the structure as a whole. |

O subleito, visto ser a fundação da estrutura de um pavimento, deve ter capacidade de suporte compatível com a intensidade e frequência com o qual é solicitado. Desta forma, é fundamental o estudo do comportamento de solos utilizados como materiais de subleito, especialmente em relação à sua resistência e deformabilidade, assim como os fatores que influenciam estas propriedades. O objetivo principal deste trabalho é avaliar o comportamento de quatro solos com origens geológicas diferentes, quanto a sua resistência e deformabilidade, para o emprego em subleitos rodoviários no estado do Rio Grande do Sul. A metodologia aplicada neste estudo consistiu em ensaios de caracterização física e mecânica, análise química, obtenção da curva característica dos solos, ensaios de resistência ao cisalhamento direto e ensaios triaxiais de cargas repetidas. Além da caracterização completa dos mesmos, foram realizadas simulações numéricas, a fim de avaliar o desempenho dos solos em estudo na fundação de um pavimento padrão, dimensionado através do método do DNIT. Os limites descritos em norma para utilização dos solos como material de subleito foram satisfeitos, apresentando valores de expansão inferiores à 2% e Índices de Suporte Califórnia – ISC variando de 10% à 16%. Os módulos de resiliência foram obtidos através de ensaios triaxiais de cargas repetidas, sendo o modelo composto o que melhor descreve o comportamento resiliente dos solos, pois considera o estado de tensões atuantes na estrutura. Além de avaliar à resistência ao cisalhamento dos solos, avaliou-se também a influência do teor de umidade nesta propriedade. De modo geral, analisando as envoltórias de ruptura há uma redução na resistência ao cisalhamento dos materiais com o acréscimo de umidade. Com a redução de 2% no teor ótimo de umidade, a resistência ao cisalhamento aumenta consideravelmente. As análises mecanicistas, realizadas com o auxílio da ferramenta AEMC e do software AASHTOWare Pavement ME Design, permitiram avaliar a resposta mecânica dos solos quando empregados no subleito de um pavimento, além de evidenciar a importância do módulo de resiliência no comportamento da estrutura como um todo.Fundação de Amparo a Pesquisa do Estado do Rio Grande do Sul - FAPERGSporUniversidade Federal de Santa MariaCentro de TecnologiaPrograma de Pós-Graduação em Engenharia CivilUFSMBrasilEngenharia CivilAttribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivatives 4.0 Internationalhttp://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0/info:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessSubleitoMódulo de resiliênciaResistência ao cisalhamentoSolos não-saturadosSubgradeResilient modulusShear strengthUnsaturated soilsCNPQ::ENGENHARIAS::ENGENHARIA CIVILAvaliação da resistência e da deformabilidade de quatro solos empregados em subleitos rodoviários no estado do Rio Grande do SulResistance and deformability evaluation of four soils used in road subgrades in the state of rio grande do sulinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersioninfo:eu-repo/semantics/masterThesisPinheiro, Rinaldo Jose Barbosahttp://lattes.cnpq.br/1539316781096410Specht, Luciano Pivotohttp://lattes.cnpq.br/8038412953408618Ceratti, Jorge Augusto Pereirahttp://lattes.cnpq.br/6523502119714123Cervo, Tatiana Cureauhttp://lattes.cnpq.br/8942097635550980http://lattes.cnpq.br/8304176449726739Santos, Thaís Aquino dos300100000003600ae18a12f-8c35-44bc-9844-01d5dc7b8c91241fdede-92cb-42e1-9a30-bfe8f18f309348d1fdb4-fcef-4b42-a5c0-9e7998240cc568000959-d4cc-4ebd-b3b0-207561247433c8b4f026-47ec-4c03-a619-97ddfeefd6bdreponame:Biblioteca Digital de Teses e Dissertações do UFSMinstname:Universidade Federal de Santa Maria (UFSM)instacron:UFSMLICENSElicense.txtlicense.txttext/plain;
