Resumo: This work aims to pursue the path of the subject in the literary production of Caio Fernando Abreu titled Strange foreign (1996). This, which focuses beings wandering in a context of dispossession, the transience becomes the tonic, in opposition before were based on fixity to the same, in this case, the spatial reference, the code of behavior both as language . This time, we believe that the text draw a movement of involution and evolution over the characterization of the characters who recognize themselves as such, see if you initiate a process of incessant postponement of its subjectivity. The author anticipates questions as the subjugation of consumer goods in the media and the imputation of values vis-à-vis the dismissal of individual autonomy. Studies related to sexuality, such as Michel Foucault, and the decentering of subjectivity as Chris Weedom and Judith Butler and queer aesthetics as Eve Kosofsky Sedgwick, Nick Sullivan and Guacira Lopes Louro, besides others to rethink postmodernity as Guy Debord constitute the theoretical framework of this research and the relationship of deictic Emile Benveniste.

Nesta, a qual focaliza seres errantes em um contexto de desterritorialização, a transitoriedade passa a ser a tônica, na oposição no que antes se pautava em fixidez para os mesmos, isto é, o referencial espacial, o código tanto de comportamento quanto o da linguagem. Desta feita, acreditamos que o texto desenhe um movimento de involução e evolução ao longo da caracterização das personagens que ao se auto-reconhecerem como tais, veem se instaurar um processo de adiamento incessante da sua subjetividade. O autor antecipa questões como o avassalamento dos bens de consumo na mídia e a imputação de valores vis-à-vis a destituição da autonomia do indivíduo.
