The present study aims to analyze the perception of occupational health professionals at Federal University of Ouro Preto on the process of institutionalization of care policy to health and work safety of federal public servants. The research can be classified as a descriptive case study. The means of investigation used were: desk research and data collection. The social subjects were eight professionals who are participating in the implementation of the policy. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews with social subjects and by documentary analysis. Data were analyzed using the technique of Content Analysis. The results indicated that the policy has reached its purpose of inserting the parameters to the achievement of the health actions and that the Technique Cooperation Agreement between UFOP and IFMG has been important in this process. Besides, they indicated that the Care Integrated Subsystem to Servant Health - SIASS has been favorable to support the implementation of the policy. It was still verified as facilitators the training and support of Ministry of Planning, Budget and Management, which assisted installing of the SIASS unity. Among the difficulties, the results showed problems in the process of policy communication and in the joint action of the multiprofessional team. Yet, they pointed the PASS as a change of culture in terms of occupational health and that s why the control and the fulfillment of all the rules proposed becomes indispensable for the policy. Thus, in view of the foregoing, it is believed that this study contributes towards analyzing a policy from its implementation. It is believed that for UFOP reaches the level of total institutionalization policy, and the need to propagate structure for all servants, it is supposed to internalizing all standards so that these are part of the culture and perpetuate throughout time in the institution. It is also believed that the results may allow a preliminary diagnosis of the care policy to health and work safety of federal public servants in order to support future decisions on actions to be undertaken in the short and long-term continuity of the same, which is still under implementation.
