This study was performed to identify faults in the conformation of both forelimb and hindlimb, radiographic alterations and relationships with clinical manifestations in breed Breton horses mixed. Fifty randomly selected horses were used which thirty nine animals were females and eleven were males between 4 and 18 years old age. The animals developed farm work and reproduction activities. The conformation of each animal was first evaluated in to cranial, caudal and lateral view and before by static and dynamic exam of the locomotor system. Evaluation and projection radiographic were depended of conformations faults. Forelimb faults were frequently founded in the cranial view and were toed-out (36%) and toed-in (26%) respectively. Radiographic predominant alterations were ossifications of the collateral cartilages of the distal phalanx, remodeling of the condyle and prominences of the middle or proximal phalanx and osteophytes, particularly in to metacarpophalangeal joint. However, these alterations were most localized in the lateral and medial part, this fact was independent of the fault in conformation. Lateral view show frequency of standing under in front found in 60% of the population. The radiographic alteration in this animals was periostitis in the dorsal surface of the middle phalanx, (53%), and osteophytes in the proximal joint surface of the navicular bone (N=10; 33%). In the pelvic limbs the most frequent defects were the cow hocks (caudal view) and hind limbs (lateral view). In both cases were observed osteophytes in tarsometatarsal and centrodistal joints. However none of these animals presented clinical manifestations of the locomotor system. It is believed that simultaneous presence of several faults in conformation generates overload and this are not deposited in same point, but causes imbalance distribution in several places.
