Resumo: With this study aimed to determine the age at puberty of heifers and bulls Gir created field (a semi-extensive) and the relation of body measurements, ultrasound, testicular and andrologic with reproductive events in system management conditions semi-extensive. A group of 115 animals, including 66 females and 49 males, pure origin and genealogical register, aged between 14 and 24 months. Reviews and gynecological andrologic were carried out fortnightly and monthly, respectively, on a cattle ranch Elite Gir located in São Pedro dos Ferros, the state of Minas Gerais, in the period from July to November 2012. The records of the animals used for the assessments were provided by the Brazilian Agricultural Research Corporation - National Research Center for Dairy Cattle (Embrapa CNPGL) - Juiz de Fora-MG and the Brazilian Association of Breeders of Gir Dairy (ABCGIL) - Uberaba-MG. To study the variation observed in reproductive variables measured, variance analysis was performed using the statistical procedures available in using SAS ® (SAS, 2009). The animals were evaluated between the ages of 14 to 24 months, females evaluated between 9.1% (6/66 heifers) were pubescent, while in males 69.4% (34/49) were classified as pubescent.

The animals were evaluated between the ages of 14 to 24 months, females evaluated between 9.1% (6/66 heifers) were pubescent, while in males 69.4% (34/49) were classified as pubescent.Com presente estudo objetivou-se determinar a idade à puberdade de novilhas e tourinhos da raça Gir criados a campo (regime semi-extensivo) e verificar a relação das mensurações corporais, ultrassonográficas, testiculares e andrológicas com os eventos reprodutivos em condições de manejo do sistema semi-extensivo. Foram avaliados 115 animais, sendo 66 fêmeas e 49 machos, puros de origem e com registro genealógico, com idade entre 14 e 24 meses. Avaliações ginecológicas e andrológicas foram realizadas quinzenalmente e mensalmente, respectivamente, em uma fazenda de gado elite da raça Gir localizada no município de São Pedro dos Ferros,interior do estado de Minas Gerais, no período de julho a novembro de 2012. Os registros dos animais utilizados para as avaliações foram cedidos pela Empresa Brasileira de Pesquisa Agropecuária Centro Nacional de Pesquisa em Gado de Leite (Embrapa CNPGL) Juiz de Fora- M.G. e Associação Brasileira de Criadores da Raça Gir Leiteiro (ABCGIL) Uberaba-MG. Para estudo da variação observada nas variáveis reprodutivas aferidas, foi realizada análise variância, usando os procedimentos estatísticos disponíveis no pacote computacional SAS® (SAS, 2009).
