Resumo: The present study searched to analyze the youth participation in the rituals of Congado, in order to understand their relationship with the old congadeiros from the incorporation or not of new ritual elements in this event at Estrela do Indaiá/MG. The research with the congadeiros of Estrela do Indaiá/MG is inserted into a job search enhancement of the rural world and reaffirmation of this space as living place also for the youth in a reaffirmation of the importance of the rural area based on the value of their culture and tradition of collective manifestations. From the point of view of this thesis, we believe that understanding the meaning of the Nossa Senhora do Rosário s manifestation for the youth and the old patients of culture, was possible to analyze the social organization of the estrelenses and allowed us to understand how faith and tradition act for the construction of his celebration, with the young congadeiros being the spokesmen for this to continue.

A pesquisa com os congadeiros de Estrela do Indaiá encontra-se inserida dentro de um trabalho de busca de valorização do mundo rural e de reafirmação deste espaço como lugar de vivência também de jovens em uma reafirmação da importância do mundo rural com base no valor de sua cultura e da tradição das manifestações coletivas.
