With the objective of determining the requirement of digestible lysine, methionine+cistine and threonine for light and semi-heavy-weight laying hens from 54 to 70 weeks of age, three experiments were conducted at the Zootechny Department, UFV. A total of 540 light Lohmann LSL and 540 brown Lohmann were used, subjected to different diets with five growing levels of amino acids in study. The trial was arranged in a completely randomized design in a 5x2 factorial experiment (five levels of amino acids and two lineages), with six repetitions and six hens per experimental unit. Besides the productive performance (production, weight and egg mass), it was also appraised the feed conversion, egg components (albumen, yolk and shell), egg quality (Haugh units, albumen and yolk index), percentage of non-marketable eggs and the body weight change. In the experiment 1, the requirement of digestible lysine was 0.724% and 0.692%, corresponding to 784 and 748 mg/hen/day for the light and semi-heavy weight hens respectively. In the experiment 2, for the lightweight laying hens, the requirement of digestible methionine+cistine was 0.645%, corresponding to daily consumption of 712 mg/hen and a methionine+cistine/lysine ratio of 98. For the semi-heavy hens, the requirement of digestible methionine+cistine was 0.655%, correponding to a daily consumption of 723 mg/hen and a methionine+cistine/lysine ratio of 100. In the experiment 3, for the light-weight laying hens, the requirement of digestible threonine was 0.447%, corresponding to a daily consumption of 488 mg/hen and a threonine/lysine ratio of 68. The requirement of digestible threonine for the semi-heavy laying hens was 0.468%, corresponding to a daily consumption of 509 mg/hen and a threonine/lysine ratio of 71.
