This work aimed to evaluate the irrigation management in banana crop and the quality of water drained in the Irrigated District of Gorutuba. were select 18 lots for this study, six in the business area and 12 in the colonization area; in each lot, two sectors were chosen for evaluation. In the first stage of the study, the following parameters were evaluated: average discharge (Q), discharge variation in the Sector (ΔQ), average pressure (P), pressure variation (ΔP), number of clogged emitters (NEO ), percentage of mixing emitters (ME), Distribution Uniformity Coefficient (CUD), Christiansen Uniformity Coefficient (CUC), Total Variation Coefficient (CVT), hydraulic variation coefficient (CVH), discharge exponent of the emitter in the sector (X) and Statistical Variation Coefficient (CVE). In the second step, the water demand and irrigation were simulated for the years 2009 and 2010, using the software IntecPerimetro ®. The subunit application ratio (RAP), the correlation coefficient (r) and agreement coefficient of Willmott (d) were calculated using simulated data. Among the 32 sectors studied, less than 50% had values of CUD in the range considered excellent, and the best results were found in the newest systems. The CUC, showed higher efficiency when compared to the CUD, but also, as well as the CUD, had the emitters clogging as the major influence on its results. The pressure variation in 21 out of the 32 sectors evaluated was above the acceptable. About 50% of sectors showed a mixture of emitters and at least about 60% of the emitters evaluated were partially or wholly clogged, as a result of not using a water filtration system. Most of the irrigators applied water in excess. The average number of months irrigated with deficit is approximately 3.5 and 8.5 for the business and the settlers areas, respectively. The quality of water drained showed no restrictions to irrigate banana.
