Two experiments was carried out in a greenhouse house in order to evaluate the influence of soil bases saturation and different Ca:Mg corrective relations on growth and seedling quality of bico-de-pato, pau-jacaré and fedegoso. It was used polyethylene vases with capacity for 2,1 dm3 of soil with one plant each one and the experimental was a randomized complete blocks design with four replications. The soil used as substratum were a Argissolo anda two Latossolos, all collected below 20 cm depth layer from the region of Viçosa, Minas Gerais. Besides the original saturation, three more levels of bases saturation were tested: argissolo, 50; 60; e 70%, Latossolo distrófico, 30; 50; e 70%; atssolo álico, 25; 45; e 65%, using CaCO3 and MgCO3 at a stoichiometric relationship 4:1. More four stoichiometric relation (1:0, 1:1, 2:1 and 3:1) were established in order to evaluate the effect of different Ca:Mg corrective relations on base saturation of 60% on Argissolo, 50% on Latssolo Distrófico and 45% on Latossolo álico. It was measured the stem base diameter and the height of aerial part of each one of the plants to evaluate the quality of the seedling produced, 120 days after the sowing. After that, they were divided in aerial part and roots, so that it could be determined the weight of dry substance of the parts and the relations between the morphologic parameters. It was possible to conclude that the bases saturation that has presented the best results for the production of bico-de-pato seedling were 60% on Argissolo, 70% on Latossolo distrófico and 40% on Latossolo álico. The best Ca:Mg corrective relation found on Argissolo or Latossolo álico for this species was 4:1 and on Latssolo distrófico was 2:1. For the production of pau-jacaré seedling on Argissolo or Latossolo distrófico, the bases saturation should be raised to approximately 50% and on Latossolo álico this saturation should be approximately 40%. The Ca:Mg corrective relation that has presented the best pau-de-jacaré seedling production were 1:1 on Argissolo, 4:1 on Latossolo distrófico and 2:1 Latossolo álico. The bases saturation indicated for the fedegoso seedling production on Argissolo or Latssolo distrófico was 70% and on Latossolo álico this saturation should be raised to 65%. For any of the three type of soil, the Ca:Mg relation corrective recommended was 3:1.
