Resumo: | Three experiments were conducted to evaluate available phosphorus levels (aP) in diets for 30 to 95 kg pigs selected for meat deposition. In experiment I, 50 female commercial hybrids pigs with initial weight of 30.32 ± 0.29 kg were used, allotted in a completely randomized experimental design, with five treatments, five replicates, and two pigs per experimental unit. The treatments were composed of a phosphorus deficient basal diet and other four diets obtained through basal diet supplementation with dicalcium phosphate to obtain five aP concentrations (0.144, 0.224, 0.304, 0.384, and 0.464%). Calcium levels were adjusted by varying the amounts of limestone in the diets. In experiment II, 60 commercial hybrid barrows with initial weight of 61.05 ± 0.60 kg were used, allotted in a completely randomized block design, with five treatments, five replicates, and two pigs per experimental unit. The treatments were composed of a phosphorus deficient basal diet and other four diets obtained through basal diet supplementation with dicalcium phosphate to obtain five aP concentrations (0.135, 0.200, 0.265, 0.330, and 0.395%). In experiment III, 50 commercial hybrid barrows with initial weight of 66.50 ± 2.78 kg were used, allotted in a completely randomized block design, with five treatments, five replicates, and two pigs per experimental unit. The treatments were composed of a phosphorus deficient basal diet xv and other four diets obtained through basal diet supplementation with dicalcium phosphate to obtain five aP concentrations (0.122, 0.187, 0.252, 0.317, and 0.382%).In experiment I, there were no effect of aP levels on average daily feed intake (ADFI) and feed conversion (F:G). Average daily gain (ADG) showed a quadratic behavior according to aP levels, with the maximum response at 0.372% of aP. There was no effect of the dietary aP on the amount of phosphorus in the bones (PB). The amount of calcium (CaB) and ash percentage (AP) in the bones increased linearly with increasing dietary aP. In experiment II, ADFI was no influenced by the aP levels in the diets. However, ADG increased and F:G improved quadratically with increasing aP levels up to 0.336 and 0.348% maximum responses, respectively. The dietary aP influenced the contents of PB, CaB, and BA, that increased linearly. In experiment III, ADFI and ADG showed a quadratic behavior according to aP levels, with maximum responses at 0.226 and 0.256% of aP, respectively. The levels of AP influenced F:G that improved up to 0.295% of aP, maintaining in a plateau. The amounts of PB and CaB increased quadratically with increasing aP, with maximum responses at 0.314 and 0.272% of aP, respectively. The dietary aP levels influenced BA that increased linearly. The greatest weight gain of 30 to 60 kg female pigs, selected for meat deposition, is obtained at 0.372% of available phosphorus, corresponding to a ratio of 2.02:1 with calcium, and daily intake of 8.20 g of available phosphorus. In experiments II and III, the greatest weight gain and feed conversion of 60 to 95 kg pigs, selected for meat deposition, are obtained at 0.336 and 0.348%, and 0.256 and 0.295% of available phosphorus levels, respectively, corresponding to respective daily intakes of 10.65 and 11.03 g, and 7.06 and 7.93 g of available phosphorus. |
