Resumo: The work proposes to form part of the history of agronomics engineers who have accomplished their graduation et the superior School of Agriculture and Veterinary in the city of Viçosa, state of Minas Gerais, in the period of 1931-1948. The chronological cut took as a starting reference the year when the first class of engineers graduated and as a milestone the very year when the school was upgraded to the condition of Rural University of the State of Minas Gerais UREMG. In turn it coincides with our cut almost totally with the period corresponding to the Vargas Age. Our main will was to realize how during the 30 s and 40 s, a modernizing project fot the rural field would have consolidate around the professional background education taken by the agronomics engineers who had been graduate at the school.

O corte cronológico tomou como referência inicial o ano em que a primeira turma de engenheiros da escola se graduou e, como marco final, o ano em que a escola foi elevada a condição de Universidade Rural de Minas Gerais UREMG. Por sua vez, coincide nosso recorte, quase integralmente, com o período correspondente a Era Vargas.
