Resumo: Four experiments were carried out to evaluate the effects of different lysine levels on the performance (exp. 1 and 2) and deposition of nutrients (exp. 3 and 4) of broilers chickens males and females, Ross and Cobb, in the phases from 1 to 7; 1 to 21, 1 to 35; 1 to 42 and 1 to 49 days of age. Still in this research, two more experiments (exp. 5 and 6), were run to estimated Gompertz parameters for the growth and corporal deposition of dry matter, fat, protein and ash of males and females of strains Ross and Cobb, from 1 to 49 days of age. In the experiments, 1584 birds that each strain were used, being half of each sex, distributed in a completely random design with three digestible lysine levels, two sexes with eight replications and 33 broilers for experimental unit. The digestible lysine levels adopted corresponded respectively to 92; 100 and 108% of recommendations for Rostagno et al. (2005), for each phase and sex. For males, the lysine levels studied at phases from 1 to 7, 8 to 21, 22 to 35, 36 to 42 and 43 to 49 days of age, corresponding the Rostagno et al. (2005) recommendations, were respective the 1,330; 1,146; 1,073; 1,017 and 0,970%. For the females, on same phases, the values were the 1,330; 1,146; 0,997; 0,904 and 0,857%. The others values were estimated considering the lysine recommendations 8% superior (108%) and 8% inferior (92%). At the end of the experiments 1 and 2, it was observed that the lower lysine level than the recommended for Rostagno et al. (2005), resulted in worst performances and that the values same or superior than recommended for Rostagno et al. (2005), resulted in better performance, independent of strains, sexes or phase studied. The analyze of data in the experiments 3 and 4, showed that the decrease or the increase of the digestible lysine levels were not enough to result in consistent changes in the dry matter, fat, protein and ash deposition of males and females broilers from Ross or Cobb strains, in the period from 1 to 49 days. In the final of the experiments 5 and 6, it was observed that the growth and nutrients deposition estimated with Gompertz equations were superestimated in the initial and final phases. The estimated Gompertz equations presented excellent determination coefficients showing that this model is recommended to estimate the growing and tissues deposition in the broilers chickens. Growth and deposition curves indicated that at older age of slaughter larger fat and lower protein carcass deposition, mainly in females. The Gompertz curve for ash deposition showed that it ocorried before than protein and fat depositions.

Growth and deposition curves indicated that at older age of slaughter larger fat and lower protein carcass deposition, mainly in females. The Gompertz curve for ash deposition showed that it ocorried before than protein and fat depositions.
