Resumo: The aim of this study was to analyze in vitro the antimicrobial activity of four materials (CTZ, Guedes-Pinto, Calen PMCC®, OZE) used in obturation of root canals of deciduous teeth on some microorganisms removed from the pulp cavity of necrotic primary molars. We selected 06 children aged 6 to 10 years old, each presented with a deciduous molar was necrotic. In the clinical phase, the involved teeth were accessed and an absorbent paper cone inserted inside the root canal, then the contaminated cones were placed in a tube containing 3 ml of TSB. The tubes were sent to the laboratory and all involved teeth treated and filled with paste CTZ. Coronal restoration was performed with cement glass ionomer and the teeth were in attendance. In the laboratory phase, the tubes were incubated in TSB bacteriological incubator at 37 °C for a period of 24 hours. Then, they were subcultured in Petri plaques containing culture media: blood agar, mannitol salt agar and chocolate agar CLED. The media were incubated in bacteriological incubator at 37 °C for 24 hours, except the chocolate agar that was placed in an anaerobic jar and incubated in the same conditions. After the growth and identification of bacteria, with the aid of a sterile swab, were sown in Petri plaques containing Mueller Hinton agar. The folders (CTZ, Guedes-Pinto, OZE, Calen PMCC®) were placed in medium and incubated in an oven at 37 °C for 24 hours to verify and measure the inhibition of bacterial growth. The microorganisms identified were K. pneumonae, S. aureus, E. coli, E. faecalis and bacteria grown in anaerobic conditions. In the agar diffusion test of the filling materials, folders CTZ and Guedes-Pinto presented the best results in vitro, followed by cement and zinc oxide eugenol paste and Calen PMCC®. It was concluded that root canal filling pastes in primary teeth with the antibiotic in its composition were more effective in eliminating bacteria removed from endodontic infections.

Submitted by Janser dos Santos Nascimento (janser.nascimento@unigranrio.com.br) on 2016-11-25T12:47:38Z No. of bitstreams: 2 license_rdf: 0 bytes, checksum: d41d8cd98f00b204e9800998ecf8427e (MD5) Sandro Seabra Goncalves.pdf: 2150014 bytes, checksum: 3928e062920db2f34feb7e9899f10a38 (MD5)Made available in DSpace on 2016-11-25T12:47:38Z (GMT).
