Tourism plays a key role in the economy and development of the triple frontier along Brazil, Paraguay and Argentina, represented by the municipalities of Foz do Iguaçu, Ciudad del Este and Puerto Iguazu respectively. As part of it, accommodation is one of the most important tourist offers for this sector to operate in a consistent and sustainable way. This paper investigates the relationship between the Entrepreneurial Behavioral Characteristics (EBC) of the managers in relation to the performance of the micro and small accommodation companies in the triple frontier region. Data collection was carried out face-to-face, based on 139 valid cases, and data analysis was performed by descriptive statistics, exploratory factorial analysis and correlations using R software (version 3.5.1). The importance of this research lies in the mapping of the entrepreneurial behavior of the decision makers and in the understanding of how this phenomenon may or may not impact the business performance. The results show that, in Foz do Iguaçu, there are no significant relations of EBC’s in the projects performance; on the other hand, in Ciudad del Este and Puerto Iguazu, there was a moderate relationship in 4 of the 10 entrepreneurial behavioral characteristics, which are: search for opportunity and initiative (0.38); persistence (0.37); search for information (0.34) and independence and high confidence (0.51); and search for opportunity and initiative (0.45), respectively. Finally, regarding the sample characterization, the study revealed that the occupancy rate and the number of beds and employees has a significant relation with the business performance.
