Looking at the trend from rural areas milestones stood out throughout history, with emphasis on modernization of post-institutionalization of PRONAF as public policy for rural development. But to what extent this policy effectively contributes to sustainable rural development? From this questioning, the objective of this study is to analyze the impact of PRONAF investment in the sustainability of producing households, specifically focused on milk production in the municipality of Boa Esperança - Pr. The methodological approach of the research was through qualitative research and quantitative, exploratory and descriptive, and the data collection was through a survey, supported by a semi-structured form. In addition to the primary data that was collected from the farmers, was also carried out a collection of secondary information obtained through desk research. From this study it is concluded that: most of the surveyed farmers are predominantly owners of production units; The main activities are dairy farming, followed by the production of grain; Parents have the primary responsibility for the conduct of activities on the properties; The main source of income outside the property is public service. PRONAF investment contributes positively in family units analyzed for providing conditions for diversification of economic activities in the property, which previously limited only to grain, serving the dairy business only for family subsistence. The diversification provided greater liquidity, because besides the milk grain activity also became profitable, therefore the social indicators have benefited, retirement homes, acquisition of vehicles and household items. Environmental indicators were also positive, due to strict legislation when access to credit and insurance purposes. As for the use of the area of the property, it was evident the change in areas designed for annual crops being replaced by pasture. The income from outside the property, the part-time system, contributed significantly in the composition of the family unit income. The beneficiary public Pronaf Investment can be analyzed on different aspects: social, economic and environmental, which demonstrated a rise in these indicators from the access to this public policy. Regarding the use of credit, we note a tendency to purchase dairy matrices, facilities construction and acquisition of machinery / equipment and utility vehicles, always to strengthen the dairy business
