A percepção ambiental no contexto universitário: a relevância de ações estratégicas na gestão organizacional

Resumo: The university environment is very complex and different audiences are present, with a prevalence of young people. But what do they think about the environment? The answer to this question may enable new directions and strategies from the point of view of organizational management. To establish actions that enable positive results is necessary to understand well what their publics think, in communication we call them “stakeholders”, who are people of various profiles with whom the company relates. From an organizational point of view, proposing ideas that are not properly suited to stakeholders would be to spend time, increasingly scarce, on actions that, in practice, will not have the expected effect. Thus, the aim of this study was to verify the environmental perception of university students so that the institution has subsidies to strategically propose actions that can bring more effective results regarding environmental issues. The methodology used was, firstly, the bibliographic survey on the thematic approached and, next, the accomplishment of a descriptiveanalytical exploratory study, anchored in the action research with a qualitative and quantitative research approach, using the systemic observation technique. A fieldwork was done, with a questionnaire applied to two audiences: the freshmen and also the students from the environmental area. It was found that new students still need to be informed or have greater contact with the education and sustainability practices promoted by the education organization. Regarding the respondents of the Biological Sciences and Environmental Engineering courses, 99% of respondents believe it is important to develop sustainable actions within the university environment or carried out by the university

Mas, o que pensam eles sobre o meio ambiente? A resposta para essa pergunta pode viabilizar novos direcionamentos e estratégias do ponto de vista da gestão organizacional. Para estabelecer ações que viabilizem resultados positivos é preciso compreender bem o que pensam seus públicos, na comunicação os chamamos de “stakeholders”, que são pessoas dos mais variados perfis com quem a empresa se relaciona. Do ponto de vista organizacional, propor ideias que não estejam devidamente adequadas aos stakeholders seria despender um tempo, cada vez mais escasso, em ações que, na prática, não surtirão o efeito esperado. Assim, o objetivo deste estudo foi verificar a percepção ambiental dos universitários a fim de que a instituição tenha subsídios para propor, de forma estratégica, ações que possam trazer resultados mais eficazes no que se refere às questões ambientais. A metodologia empregada, primeiramente, foi o levantamento bibliográfico sobre a temática abordada e, seguidamente, a realização de um estudo exploratório descritivo-analítico, ancorado na pesquisa-ação com abordagem de pesquisa quali-quantitativa, utilizando como técnica a observação sistêmica. Foi feito um trabalho de campo, com aplicação de questionário para dois públicos: os ingressantes e também os alunos da área ambiental. Verificou-se que os alunos ingressantes ainda precisam ser informados ou ter maior contato com as práticas de educação e de sustentabilidade promovidas pela organização de ensino.
