Resumo: | The Brazilian Popular Art, just as any other art form, has changed through its history. This happened due to various influences: environmental, social, cultural, political and even the availability of new materials for artistic creation. This research presents how the popular art has changed over time and found adapted itself, demonstrating the importance of the Brazilian Popular Art in the contemporary world through the works of the artist known as Zé Pretinho. Artist who creates from what society discards, transcending directly with your personal history and questioning specific events of our time expressing political and social criticism in his work. The works developed by Zé Pretinho are between popular and contemporary, and the main features in its production are the use of writing and industrialized dolls. His works and process of creation interfere in the urban everyday life, and are classified by the artist himself as urban philosophy. Zé Pretinho, invites us to see the world created by him, and through his work we recognize our own reality. |

Este fato deu-se por diversas influências: ambientais, sociais, culturais, políticas e até mesmo pela disponibilidade de novos materiais para a criação artística. Esta pesquisa consiste em apresentar, como a arte popular modificou-se ao longo do tempo e encontrou caminhos para sua adaptação, demonstrando a importância da Arte Popular Brasileira na contemporaneidade através das obras do artista conhecido como Zé Pretinho. Artista que cria a partir do que a sociedade descarta, transcendendo diretamente com sua história pessoal e questionando acontecimentos característicos de nossa época, expressando em sua poética, críticas políticas e sociais. As obras desenvolvidas por Zé Pretinho circulam entre o popular e a contemporâneo, tendo como principais características em sua produção o uso da escrita e bonecas industrializadas. Suas obras e processo de criação interferem no cotidiano urbano, sendo classificadas pelo próprio artista como: filosofia urbana.
