Resumo: This dissertation consists in the comparative analysis of the concept of grotesque present in the verbal and extraverbal speeches of Donald Trump, before and after his election as president of the United States. Bakhtin (1987) argues that the ideologies present in the discourse are directly determined by the political and social context in which the speaker is related, in addition, it consists of a contextual analysis of the discursive structure. Therefore, this dissertation is based on Discourse Analysis, which is responsible for studying linguistic, cultural, political and social developments, reshaping itself in spatial and temporal manners (BAKHTIN, 1987). Thus, the concept of grotesque will be focused through four categories: the devaluation of the church hierarchy; the demotion of the female figure; issues about sexuality and, finally, the imagetic content, that is the discursive extraverbalization and its intended message. Moreover, this study delineates Trump's discursive profile by presenting a brief analytical biography; presents the grotesque concept and its manifestation through his speeches (via Twitter, Instagram and other networks), as well as the intentionality entailed. From the theoretical aspects it was possible to analyze the enunciative and stylistic recurrence of the grotesque employed by Donald Trump in his rhetoric.

Bakhtin (1987) argumenta que as ideologias presentes no discurso são determinadas diretamente pelo contexto político-social no qual o sujeito enunciador se relaciona, ou seja, consiste na análise contextual da estrutura discursiva. Logo, esta dissertação tem como base a Análise do Discurso, responsável por estudar desenvolvimentos linguísticos, culturais, políticos e sociais, remodelando-se de maneira espacial e temporal em que é analisada (BAKHTIN, 1987). Dessa forma, focalizar-se-á no conceito de grotesco por meio de quatro categorias: a desvalorização da hierarquia da igreja; o rebaixamento da figura feminina; o baixo material envolto de questões sobre sexualidade e o conteúdo imagético, ou seja, a extraverbalização discursiva e sua mensagem intencionada. Ademais, este estudo traça o perfil discursivo de Trump ao apresentar breve biografia analítica; apresenta o conceito do grotesco e sua manifestação por meio de seus discursos (via Twitter, Instagram e outras redes sociais), bem como a intencionalidade acarretada.
