Resumo: This research has the goal to examine the influence of the Sacred in the social transformation of people at the streets through a case conducted at Missão Vida in the city of Anápolis (GO). First, is made one assessment of the socioeconomic profile of the population at street in major Brazilian cities, especially in São Paulo. Secondly, are approached some concepts that define the sacred and the holy experience of people's behavior. It is also made a conceptual and historical survey of social responsibility of the church in Protestant bias. And finally is analyzed the work of the Missão Vida. This analysis part of a vision of their history, their proposal of work (vision, mission and values) of the main activities in the nuclei of Missão Vida, the expected results from its leadership. It is also made interviews with internal and ex-internal with the testimony about the role of the Missão Vida and the Sacred in social transformation. Finally, its confirmed by the analysis of the results, the influence that the Sacred exerts in the social transformation of people at street.

Em primeiro lugar, é feita uma avaliação do perfil socioeconômico da população em situação de rua nas principais cidades brasileiras, em especial na cidade de São Paulo. Em segundo lugar, são abordados alguns conceitos que definem o sagrado, e a vivencia do sagrado no comportamento das pessoas. É feito também um levantamento histórico e conceitual da responsabilidade social da Igreja no viés protestante. E finalmente é analisado o trabalho da Missão Vida. Esta análise parte de uma visão de sua história, da sua proposta de trabalho (visão, missão e valores), das principais atividades realizadas nos núcleos da Missão Vida, dos resultados esperados por parte de sua liderança. São feitas também entrevistas com internos e ex-internos com depoimentos do papel da Missão Vida e do Sagrado na transformação social.
