The focus of this work is to study and promote, as a contribution to knowledge, the buildings of sport s architecture designed and built between the years 1950 and 1970 in the State of São Paulo, identifying and showing some architectural and built features from these works using some case studies, selected through a survey of built projects, public and private, mainly found in journals of the time chosen for this study. From this survey, criteria was defined to select the main exemplars which came in first a more thorough analysis, focusing on their architectural features such as the approach adopted, the structural system chosen, materials used, the immediate surroundings, movement and access. Secondly, these works were related and compared to others of the same type and period, in order to verify the existence, or not, of architectural and constructive approaches, that could be part of the design of such buildings. The objective of this dissertation is to characterize, through a chronological framework, this type of design within the studies of modern architecture in São Paulo, opening up the possibility of dialogue and discussion on this subject, both in academic field and in the practice field.
