This research sought to investigate the creative process of High School students in the art room, called atelier, of a private school in the city of São Bernardo do Campo, São Paulo. Based on the flow, a concept of Csikszentmihalyi, the practices developed in art workshops had the repertoire from the histories and particular memories of each one of them as elementary point; for this, a personal object was the matrix of the developed productions. Essential elements for the creation process were considered fundamental for the analysis of the practices: the interior guide, the modifications during the creations, the relevance of an atelier for the artistic making, as well as the relations between teacher and students. It was emphasized the importance of the works exhibition developed in the workshops so that art had its role of language. We used the concepts of artistic research methodologies (MARÍN VIADEL and ROLDÁN, 2012) to present the images collected in the experiences, taking photography as a research methodology, aiming at maintaining the poetic and unique character from all of them as an essential part of the work.
