Resumo: The creation of organization knowledge is based on individuals and their interactions as a dynamic and relational process. Therefore, resources are incorporated into interpersonal relationships in which individuals are able to access and develop knowledge. The Knowledge Based View supports studies at the level of individuals, groups or organizations, displaying different perspectives by arguing that knowledge is a source that results in superior performance. If such assumptions are applied in different sectors of the economy, it is believed that it is substantial to expand the awareness of the Brazilian environment of Academic Graduate Programs in Business Administration (PPGAs). This research investigated the role of the relations among permanent professors (DPs) of the Brazilian PPGAs in the development of knowledge in the Administration area, followed by an analysis of the PPGAs ratings in the 2013-2016 quadrennial, which were evaluated by the Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel (Capes). On the relational dimension of social capital, which consists of the strength of relationships - how well an individual knows his exchange partners so much is able to access and leverage resources incorporated in relationships. In order to conduct the research, a social network analysis methodology was adopted based on the extraction of secondary data from Sucupira and Lattes CNPQ1. platforms. The results indicated that the interaction among DPs has a positive relationship with the knowledge derived from the PPGAs and also that the knowledge derived from the DPs is positively related to the Capes evaluation rating. Thereby, interactions among authors are converted into the best Capes evaluation rating for PPGAs. The socioeconomic environment of the early 21st century is recognized by knowledge, which has become a critical asset for individuals and organizations. In contrast, the development of knowledge in Administration is more qualified where there is a geographical concentration of PPGAs, mainly in the Southeast region. Another aspect observed by the research is that the development of knowledge in Management is not greater in public Higher Education Institutions (HEIs), although the amount of public and private PPGAs are equivalent. This dissertation brings light to the generation of knowledge in the area of Management and presents reflections on points of improvement in the relational and evaluative aspects of the post-graduation. The study indicates the importance of interactions between PDs of Brazilian PPGAs, enriching knowledge and integrating more distant areas of this great Brazil; however, caution is needed with the participation of PDs in several programs. Some practical implications of these results are suggested to Capes, such as the consideration of the quantity of PDs that produce knowledge, valuing the proportion between these aspects; another point suggested is to consider the specificities of the region and type of PPGA, as to the quantity of orientation, exclusivity and teaching hours of PDs, access to resources, among others that are not in the scope of this work. The limits of this research occur, mainly, due to the difficulties of access to information of the knowledge generated by PPGAs. The existence of two systems - Sucupira and Lattes CNPQ - with distinct information, without co-authorship registration with students, for example, or foreign researchers, made it difficult to analyze more broadly the objectives of this research.

The limits of this research occur, mainly, due to the difficulties of access to information of the knowledge generated by PPGAs. The existence of two systems - Sucupira and Lattes CNPQ - with distinct information, without co-authorship registration with students, for example, or foreign researchers, made it difficult to analyze more broadly the objectives of this research.O ambiente socioeconômico do início do século 21 é marcado pelo conhecimento, que se tornou ativo crítico para indivíduos e organizações.
