Resumo: This dissertation has as its theme a historiographical study that focuses on observation, analysis and interpretation of programmatic articles (written to promote theories and / or scientific methods of a certain area) of the 1960s and 1970s written by Brazilian linguists in a period of rich development of the national Linguistics, that started to see the area s solidified implementation in Brazil and the beginning of the plurality formation of approaches and methods, generating debates and conflicts around theories and ways of research. The main objective of this work is to discuss the rhetoric of rupture used by linguists from that time. For the dissertation, the corpus is the following programmatic articles: a) Miriam Lemle: The new structuralism in linguistics: Chomsky; b) Geraldo Mattos: The constructural language; c) Mattoso Jr. The linguistic structuralism. The work aims to investigate to what extent rhetoric of rupture settled in Brazilian Linguistic, with a division view of discursive modes in specific specialty groups. For the research development were selected, following traditional procedures in historiographical approach to linguistic research, internal and external analysis parameters. As theoretical reference works are authors like Pierre Swiggers and Konrad Koerner, who contributed to the definition of the Historiography of Linguistics as a field in linguistic studies with methodological guidelines and theoretical concepts articulated a specific way to reconstruct and interpret the history of the studies in language.

O objetivo central deste trabalho é analisar a retórica de ruptura utilizada por linguistas dessa época. Para a dissertação de mestrado, o corpus escolhido são os seguintes artigos programáticos: a) Miriam Lemle: O novo estruturalismo em linguística: Chomsky; b) Geraldo Mattos: A linguística construtural; c) Mattoso Câmara Jr.: O estruturalismo linguístico. O trabalho visa a investigar em que medida retóricas de ruptura se estabeleceram na história da linguística brasileira, tendo em vista a circunscrição de modos discursivos em grupos de especialidade específicos. Para o desenvolvimento da pesquisa foram selecionados, seguindo procedimentos já tradicionais na abordagem historiográfica da pesquisa linguística, parâmetros de análise internos e parâmetros de análise externos.
