This work aims to identify the specificity of the bespoke look of the urban space in Lisbon, combined with aspects related to the myth present in the novel, “The City of Ulysses” by the contemporary Portuguese writer Teolinda Gersão. In it, perspective and myth would be responsible for the depiction of the city of Lisbon. Deriving, thus, from the apparent finding that a number of different categories of style related to Portuguese literary production and whose subject of analysis was the capital city of Lisbon surpass the limited period of works conceived in the 20th and 21st centuries. The approach of this investigation prioritized an examination of the depiction of the novel of Lisbon by Gersão in 2011. Besides this approach, the esthetic construction that is pointed out by two other perspectives that aim to configure the urban space in question is also looked into: the one by Fernando Pessoa in “The Book of Disquiet” (1999) and the one by José Saramago in “The History of the Siege of Lisbon” (1989). In an attempt to specify the proposed analyses of the three different perspectives depicted as the city of Lisbon, the one by Pessoa has been designated in the category of gazed look (a perspective from above), the one by Saramago as the category of extended look (a parallel perspective) and the one by Gersão as the category of original look (a perspective of the myth), so as precisely the lastly aforementioned designation is the only one strong enough to create and (re)create the urban space in Lisbon.
