Uma análise da eficácia e da efetividade dos cursos das ciências agrárias da Unidade Acadêmica de Garanhuns para o desenvolvimento do agreste meridional de Pernambuco

This research had as objective to analyze the efficiency and effectiveness of the agrarian sciences courses of the Academic Unit of Garanhuns for the development of the southern agreste of Pernambuco from the perception of its graduates. For this, a study with a qualitative-quantitative approach was carried out. The quantitative approach was carried out through questions based on the Pedagogical Project of the Courses, according to the objectives and expected professional profile, together with questions built from the literature on university and development, innovation and other research related to the theme. The qualitative approach was carried out with the inclusion of a discursive question in the collection instrument. The data collection was done through an online questionnaire, made available to the graduates via e-mail, formed by 29 questions. They returned 182 responses out of 783 possible. For the discursive question were 120 responses. Quantitative data analysis was performed through descriptive statistics and principal component factor analysis. The analysis of qualitative data was performed by content analysis. the quantitative results found showed that the respondents perceive as positive the training received and effective in the performance of the professional activity, employability, and insertion in graduate programs. In addition, the factorial analysis identified three latent dimensions that relate to the effectiveness of courses for development: interaction with the production system; interaction with the scientific-technological system; and the production and dissemination of knowledge in undergraduate courses. As for the qualitative data, four analytical categories were identified: perceptions about the interaction with the production system; perceptions about the interaction with the scientific-technological system; perceptions about the production and dissemination of knowledge in undergraduate studies; and other perceptions about effectiveness for regional development.
