Resumo: Two experiments were conducted with the objective of studying the use of cottonseed cake (CSC) with or without addition of the enzyme complex and its effect on performance and digestibility of swine on the growth phase. The first experiment was a digestibility trial using 20 barrows. The experimental design was completely randomized with four treatments and five replications. The experimental diets were reference ration (RR) to corn and soybean meal, with and without addition of enzymes; and replacement of 30% RR for cottonseed cake with and without addition of enzymes. The addition of exogenous enzymes for cottonseed cake has increased the apparent digestibility coefficient of crude protein, raising the digestible protein (DP) of cottonseed cake in swine of 30,28 to 31,36 % with and without addition of enzymes, respectively. The digestible energy was improved by 14% presenting values of 2.538 and 2.894 kcal/kg of ED, with and without addition of enzymes, respectively. In the second experiment we evaluated the performance of barrows (30-50 kg) fed increasing levels of substitution of soybean meal protein by protein cottonseed cake. Five diets were formulated: control diet with and without enzyme supplementation; and replacement of soybean meal protein by protein cottonseed cake at 20, 40 and 60% with the enzyme complex. The experimental design was a randomized design block with five replicates and one animal per experimental unit. The evaluation was performed using the feed intake, weight gain and feed conversion. The assessment of digestibility occurred through partial fecal collection using Celite® supplied in the diet. Evaluation the serum biochemical parameters, blood samples were taken by orbital sinus at the end of the experiment. Enzyme addition to the control diet, as well as replacement of protein from soybean meal by cottonseed cake didn’t affect animal performance, but showed a decrease in digestibility for diets containing cottonseed cake. For serum biochemical parameters only total protein was affected with inclusion of CSC and to feed the enzyme complex. Founded on results the soybean meal protein replacement by 38,8% protein cottonseed cake using the enzyme complex in diets for swine in growth phase, without affecting it’s performance and digestibility.

Submitted by Mario BC (mario@bc.ufrpe.br) on 2017-07-03T13:17:43Z No. of bitstreams: 1 Liliane Olimpio Palhares.pdf: 2036748 bytes, checksum: b752bf80a659e7441c5d7d612cf833b2 (MD5)Made available in DSpace on 2017-07-03T13:17:43Z (GMT).
