Resumo: The riparian forest fragments are of great importance to maintaining biological diversity, because they act as corridors facilitating the spread of animal and plant between areas, beyond of auxiliary in regulated of hydric regime and it stability soil. Thus, this study aimed to characterize the phytosociology regeneranting component in riparian areas, to evaluate the potential for natural regeneration in five fragments of Rain Forest in the Watershed of River Capibaribe, PE. The fragments studied (Mata de São João, Mata de Camurim, Mata de Quizanga, Mata de Gravatá and Mata de Indaiá) belong to the Usina Petribú. The climate is humid tropical (As’ of Köppen), with average annual temperature of 25ºC and average annual precipitation 1,500 mm, with concentrations of rainfall in the months of April to July. For sampling were allocated 50 plots 1x25 m (25 m2), 10 in each fragment, arranged systematically, starting from the riverbed entering the fragment and 25 m apart from each other (1,250 m2) . In this plots were sampled all individuals with circumference at base height (CBH 0.30 cm) < 15 cm and the following height classes: Class 1 with H > 1.0 m and H < 2.0 m, Class 2 with H > 2.0 m and H < 3.0 m and Class 3 with H > 3.0 m. The identification of individuals proceeded through the collection of botanical material and comparison in herbarium, using the Classification System of Cronquist (1988). Were calculated following phytosociological parameters: density, dominance and frequencies (Absolute and Relative), and the estimative of Total Natural Regeneration and class size. In the five fragments, the most representative families in common in species richeness were Myrtaceae, Melastomataceae, Moraceae, Mimosaceae and Sapindaceae. Regarding the number of species and individuals, stood out Mata de São João and Mata Indaiá. To estimate the natural regeneration related to the importance value there is a correlation and the specie that occurred in all areas studied was Protium heptaphyllum (Aubl.) Marchand. The values of density and absolute dominance ranged from 8,160 to 17,560 ind.ha-1 and 18.35 to 34.24 m2.ha-1, respectively. In the distribution of individuals by class of regeneration, in the five areas had a predominance of individuals in the first class, indicating an early stage of succession. By multivariate analysis (DCA and Cluster - Euclidean distance), was observed that the fragments have a significant similarity in relation to the floristic and structural variables.

Submitted by (lucia.rodrigues@ufrpe.br) on 2016-08-22T13:27:52Z No. of bitstreams: 1 Aldeni Silva de Lima.pdf: 2465554 bytes, checksum: ecb8a014e086e754a7ac97863e3c871d (MD5)Made available in DSpace on 2016-08-22T13:27:53Z (GMT).
