Diferentes relações volumoso : concentrado associadas a manipueira na alimentação de ovinos

The experiment were carried out to evaluate intake, apparent digestibility of nutrients, ingestive behavior, feed efficiency, blood parameters and performance of sheep fed diets with Tifton 85 hay (Cynodon spp.), with two roughage:concentrate ratios, with or without the inclusion of manipueira. Forty ram lambs with 19,50 ± 1,45kg body weight and about 4 months old were allotted to a completely randomized design as a 2x2 factorial arrangement. The experiment lasted 90 days, the first 30 for adaptation and 60 for sample collection and data. No difference on total intake to addition of manipueira. However, the animals were submitted to diets with 40% forage consumed greater amount of nutrients (g/day), except for mineral matter and neutral detergent fiber (NDF). Manipueira intake was higher for lambs factor greater roughage:concentrate ratios, except for NDF and non-fiber carbohydrates, unlike water intake, whose intake was higher in the treatment with 40% roughage. No difference was digestibility, feeding of solids, chewing and idle time, alimentary and ruminating efficiency according to the intake of dry matter and NDF with the inclusion of manipueira. However, there were differences of variables NDF digestibility and crude protein, total digestible nutrient content, feeding of solids, chewing and idle time, and alimentary and ruminating efficiency about the roughage:concentrate ratios. The blood parameters, final body weight, total, average and daily gain and differed only as the factor roughage:concentrate ratios. Under the conditions of this experiment, the inclusion of cassava associated with different roughage:concentrate ratios does not change intake, apparent digestibility of nutrients, ingestive behavior, feed efficiency, blood parameters and performance of sheep fed diets with Tifton 85 hay. It is recommended that further research be conducted in order to evaluate the potential of cassava in animal feed.
