Resumo: The objective of this study was to evaluate the influence of different lysine levels on performance of Duroc gilts in growing phase at 15 to 30 kg of body weight kept in a semi-arid environment. The mean of temperature in the experimental period was 32,6 °C and the humidity was 30.6 %. Thirty gilts with initial body weight of 15,5 ± 0,80 kg were randomly assigned to five treatments and six replicates, totaling 30 experimental pens and one animal per pen. Treatments have been formulated to reach 3230 kcal/EM per kg and 17% crude protein and supplemented with L-lysine HCL, resulting in diets with (0,850; 0,950; 1,050; 1,150; 1,250%) of digestible lysine and keeping the ideal protein ratio for the other essential amino acids. There was no effect of lysine levels on daily feed intake and daily weight gain, however, dietary lysine levels influenced daily lysine intake and the feed conversion, that show a point of response optimization at the level of 10,64g/kg or 1,064%, equivalent to concentration of 3,49g lysine/Mcal EM

A temperatura média do período experimental foi de 32,6 °C e a umidade relativa de 30,6%. Foram utilizados 30 fêmeas suínas com peso médio inicial de 15,5 ± 0,80 kg distribuídos em blocos ao acaso, com cinco tratamentos e seis repetições, totalizando 30 unidades experimentais com um animal por unidade experimental. Os tratamentos corresponderam a uma ração a base de milho e farelo de soja formulada para atender a exigência de 3230 kcal/EM por kg e 17% de proteína bruta, suplementada com L-lisina HCl, para atingir os níveis (0,850; 0,950; 1,050; 1,150; 1,250%) de lisina digestível, e mantendo a relação de proteína ideal para os demais aminoácidos essenciais.
