Resumo: The goal was to characterize the physical condition of different dog breeds using the corporal measurements as well as the physiological and metabolic aspects before and after the physical activity execution. A morphometric evaluation was used in a completely randomized design (DIC) in a 5x2 factorial arrangement, being five races and two sexes. When recording the blood and physiological parameters, a DIC with 5x2x2 factorial arrangement is used, being five breeds, two sexes and two exercise times, before and after. For the evaluation of the exercise in both sexes, blood samples were obtained and evaluation of the physiological variables in the two times. It was noticed in the results that the physical exercise had a significant influence (p<0.05) for both genders in all the physiological parameters evaluated but did not change the biological variables analyzed. Significant changes were noticed (p<0.05) in the physiological and biochemical variables evaluated when comparing the breeds, except for the triglycerides. When evaluating the genders, a statistic difference was found (p<0.05) where the males had a higher number of lactate and the females had a higher number of glucose and cholesterol. The biometrics variables also presented significant changes (p<0.05) where the males showed higher dimensions than the females. The border collie dogs showed significant higher values of ECC (p<0.05) than the other breeds. All the breed involved in the study showed good corporal conditions according to the physiological and metabolic parameters evaluated no matter the gender.

Utilizou-se uma avaliação morfométrica em um delineamento inteiramente casualizado (DIC) em um arranjo fatorial 5x2, sendo cinco raças e dois sexos. Quando avaliados os parâmetros sanguíneos e fisiológicos, utilizou-se um DIC com arranjo fatorial 5x2x2, sendo as cinco raças, dois sexos e dois tempos de exercício, antes e após. Para a avaliação do exercício nos dois sexos, foram obtidas amostras de sangue e avaliação das variáveis fisiológicas nos dois tempos. Na avaliação dos resultados obtidos foi possível observar que, em ambos os sexos, o exercício físico influenciou de forma significativa (P<0,05), todos os parâmetros fisiológicos avaliados, mas não influenciou as variáveis bioquímicas estudadas. Já na comparação entre as raças, com exceção do triglicerídeo, houve diferenças significativas (P<0,05), em todas as variáveis fisiológicas e bioquímicas avaliadas. Quando se avaliou os sexos, houve diferença estatística (P<0,05), com os machos apresentando maior valor de lactato, e as fêmeas apresentando maiores valores de glicose e colesterol. Houve diferenças significativas (P<0,05) das variáveis biométricas com os machos apresentando dimensões superiores as das fêmeas. Os cães da raça border collie apresentaram valores significativamente maiores (P<0,05) de ECC do que as demais raças.
