Resumo: | This dissertation is the result of a master's research carried out between 2019 and 2021, considering that during 2020 we lived under the pandemic of the New Coronavirus, which changed the initial directions of the research. Thus, the results presented here aimed to recognize how Museums and Science Centers are promoting the inclusion of the Deaf persons through activities of Popularization of Science, based on a qualitative case study. To achieve this goal, we opted for the construction of a State of Knowledge that allowed the recognition of publications related to the Popularization of Science aimed at the Deaf in Museums and Science Centers and the strategies used by these spaces in promoting inclusion through science. In addition, semi-structured interviews were carried out with professionals and educators who work with Popularization of Science aimed at the Deaf in Museums and Science Centers, which, through Bardin's Content Analysis, allowed the identification of four categories that relate the Popularization of Science with accessibility of Deaf People in Museums and Science Centers. The categories obtained were: Accessibility Measures, Visibility, Exclusion factors and Access to knowledge. The first category addresses measures related to accessibility in museum spaces, considering the importance of having specialized assistance, the realization of partnerships with institutions, employees and schools and the opportunities that are developed to allow this accessibility. The second category brings together aspects related to the visibility of the Deaf subject and the Brazilian Sign Language and includes the personal motivations of the researchers and the interest in expanding access to the Deaf through dissemination in digital media, favoring the visibility of inclusion activities. The third category addresses the exclusion factors considered by the participants, important to identify the barriers that reduce and prevent accessibility, as well as attitudes that demonstrate prejudice and lead to exclusion. Finally, the fourth category addresses issues related to access to knowledge, considering measures to expand access to science, through Science Dissemination and Popularization, and aspects related to the frequency of visitation and measures to expand access in non-formal spaces of education. With this research, it was possible to recognize how Museums and Science Centers have promoted the inclusion of the Deaf through activities of Popularization of Science, but it was recognized that the development of research about the inclusion of the Deaf in the field of Science still needs to be carried out, in addition to projects to include this community in nonformal educational spaces, such as Museums and Science Centers. |

Submitted by PPG Educa??o em Ci?ncias e Matem?tica (educem-pg@pucrs.br) on 2021-08-02T12:46:46Z No. of bitstreams: 1 DISSERTA??O_GABRIELA_HECK (1).pdf: 3624346 bytes, checksum: 8edb5ecc0c24f60017e6d323c2f1d43c (MD5)Approved for entry into archive by Caroline Xavier (caroline.xavier@pucrs.br) on 2021-08-03T17:37:38Z (GMT) No. of bitstreams: 1 DISSERTA??O_GABRIELA_HECK (1).pdf: 3624346 bytes, checksum: 8edb5ecc0c24f60017e6d323c2f1d43c (MD5)Made available in DSpace on 2021-08-03T17:41:30Z (GMT).
