This dissertation started from the clinical-institutional experience in the field of education, through listening to adolescents who experience the drama of self-mutilation, to investigate this phenomenon through psychoanalytic theory. We adopted the study of the drive as a starting point due to its mythical characteristic, dealing with a concept situated in a place between the psyche and the body, as is the link between anguish and the cut in the skin. The concepts of masochism, joie de vivre, and narcissism also helped us research the subjective position of these adolescents. It is in this peculiar moment of life, between childhood and maturity, that grief and challenges are imposed on him, generating guilt and ambivalent feelings directed mainly towards parental figures, especially those who exercise motherhood, summoning them to a new inscription in the field of the other, in the face of the other's desire, and in the face of his own desire. We present the experience of collective work through art with the methodology of spoken poetry in order to offer these subjects who cut themselves the possibility of envisioning a new path to drive and desire, which is through sublimation.
