This thesis presents an analysis of discursive practice, called motivational, that belongs to the field of bodybuilding. Taking into account that the body is a production, it can be captured and objectified by different perspectives, we are aiming at showing the discursive regularities and, therefore, their effects in relation to the ways of devising the body and ways of production of a certain reality. For that purpose, we have like support of our research in Foucault (2009, 2010, 2014a, 2014b, 2015 and 2016) as what relates to these issues concerns the production of truths, the engagement of discourses and biopolitics. Considering this last factor, it can be said that it refers to the logic of government and a policy of management of lives; so, we have recourse to Ehrenberg (2010) in relation to two strategies that relate to this logic: concurrence and performance. According to this perspective, Le Breton (2012), are the foundations of our reflections about corporeality as a symbol of an age. Having the enunciative Discourse Analysis as the basis, we discuss the linguistic and discursive peculiarities according to Maingueneau’s conception (1997, 2008b) about discursive practice and the phenomenon called aphorization (2008a, 2010, 2014) that is the enunciative act of the practice. The modus operandi of the analyzed discursive practice is originated from texts that come from other areas, what it gives the possibility for a discussion about issues such as: interdiscourse and intertextuality. As a consequence, an underlying objective of this paper is the discussion about such phenomena which productivity is exposed from Foucault’s considerations (2016) about utterance and its rarity. Having in mind that the discourses go in line with the subjects, we present an inherent discussion to the production of subjectivity based on Rolnik and Guattari (2013). The analyses have presented here and supported in the theoretical background allow us to state that this work touches points related to the senses of existences orchestrated by the word, since it creates realities and that put them in movement
