The social memory is the content of this study. Social relations ultimately determine what to remember and what to forget in a society or group within this. Remember, reminding and forgetting are two sides of a constant movement in the continuity of a group, thus, history and memory is a pair of consonance and dissonance. Modernity as an expression that focus the content of the capitalist mode of production, so their progress, change, its ideologies and its injustices is an element to understand social memory. For the traditions, what precedes and remains in capitalism like pre-capitalist, are troubles or obstacles to be overcome for the consolidation of an economy that has set up a consumer market in constant expansion. For an economy of production, circulation and consumption of goods is made, the commodification prepared the conditions for industrial capitalism, with the expansion of cities, crystallization of the bourgeoisie as a class that played and became dominant. Capital ratios the field of work has changed the history of class societies, stressed the extraction of raw materials, concentrated and changed ownership and function of land, approached people form afar through the navigation and communication process, desecrated the sacred and established consumer markets expand steadily. Thus, the losses of the exploited swelled in the rubble of capitalism that destroyed to rebuild, their resistance and struggles won volumes also significant. This heritage of defeats that the social memory of the vanquished, recognized in their traditions of struggle, cultures and productive resources is highlighted in the rural communities of Serra das Araras living in the XXI century, installed processes since the seventeenth century. The social memory takes place, group, so it is collective and accumulates in time inheritances variables in search of a dignity that want human emancipation, The memory of rural communities, heir to a peasant memory that has marks of capitalist exploitation that spared in exploring in agricultural production, exploring the black, natives, finally, this trail of expropriation, there was submission, endurance, a contradictory memory developed the countryman to reproduce his life in the Brazilian territory corners.
