Resumo: Universities, an organizational complex type, are continuously required to contribute to the discussion of sustainability, mainly because it is an educational environment and not just productive, as the industries and other sectors. These institutions have the ability to encourage the transformation of society to a more sustainable development through a reorientation of existing education systems and structures and expanding the focus of curriculum and education practices for new configurations that meet the formal context, nonformal and informal, as well as the workplace, further education and public awareness (UNESCO, 2014). The period established as the Decade of Education for Sustainable Development (2005-2014) has enabled many advances in the area, but further changes are necessary in the curriculum, in teaching practices and research conducted. In this scenario, some institutions have realized the potential of the campus as a laboratory for practical initiatives for sustainability, creating a sustainable ethos. The campus where there is concern about the impact of operations by reducing consumption and the propagation of sustainable value to society sets what you want to call a Green University or Green campus. In line with these concepts, this study investigated the environmental influences on the capabilities of the academic community. The objective was to understand the contribution of a Green University model to the competences and behaviors of the academic community (students, teachers and technicians) for sustainability. And for this purpose, a case study was conducted in the Universidade do Vale do Rio dos Sinos - UNISINOS, making use of qualitative and quantitative methods and techniques. The qualitative results characterize what is proposed to be call a Green or Sustainable University, emphasizing the environmental management system of the institution and the Applied Sustainability in different Schools. The quantitative results explore a survey of the academic community, drawing on a sample of 1.054 questionnaires. In the findings, a description of the set of generic competences for sustainability and ecological behaviors is presented by the academic community. Also analyzed was the relationship between ecological behaviors, competences for sustainability and contributions to environmental variables. Finally, we present three significant models that explain the university's contribution to the behavior, the university's contribution to the competences and the perception of Green University.

Essas instituições têm a possibilidade de incentivar a transformação da sociedade para um desenvolvimento mais sustentável, através de uma reorientação dos sistemas de ensino e estruturas e da ampliação do foco das práticas curriculares e de ensino existentes para novas configurações que alcancem o contexto formal, não formal e informal, bem como o local de trabalho, a educação para adultos e a conscientização pública (UNESCO, 2014). O período estabelecido como a Década da Educação para o Desenvolvimento Sustentável (2005-2014) possibilitou muitos avanços na área, mas ainda são necessárias mudanças nos currículos, nas práticas de ensino e nas pesquisas realizadas. Diante desse cenário, algumas instituições já perceberam o potencial do campus como um laboratório para a prática de iniciativas para a sustentabilidade, criando um ethos sustentável. O campus no qual existe a preocupação com o impacto das operações, com a redução de consumos e com a propagação de valores sustentáveis para sociedade configura o que se pretende chamar de Universidade Verde ou campus Verde. Alinhado a esses conceitos, este estudo buscou investigar as influências do ambiente nas capacidades da comunidade acadêmica. Teve por objetivo geral compreender a contribuição de um modelo de Universidade Verde para as competências e para os comportamentos da comunidade acadêmica (alunos, docentes e técnicos) em prol da sustentabilidade. E, para esse fim, realizou um estudo de caso na Universidade do Vale do Rio dos Sinos – UNISINOS, valendo-se de métodos e técnicas qualitativas e quantitativas. Os resultados qualitativos caracterizam o que se propõe chamar de Universidade Verde ou Sustentável, dando ênfase ao Sistema de Gestão Ambiental da Instituição e a Sustentabilidade Aplicada nas diferentes Escolas. Os resultados quantitativos exploram um levantamento realizado com a comunidade acadêmica, valendose de uma amostra de 1054 questionários. Entre os achados estão descritos o conjunto de competências genéricas para a sustentabilidade e os comportamentos ecológicos apresentados pela comunidade acadêmica. São analisadas, ainda, as relações entre os comportamentos ecológicos, competências para a sustentabilidade e contribuições de variáveis ambientais. Por fim, são apresentados três modelos significativos que explicam a contribuição da universidade para os comportamentos, a contribuição da universidade para as competências e a percepção de universidade Verde.Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior - CAPESporUniversidade Federal de Santa MariaCentro de Ciências Sociais e HumanasPrograma de Pós-Graduação em AdministraçãoUFSMBrasilAdministraçãoAttribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivatives 4.0 Internationalhttp://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0/info:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessUniversidade verdeEducação superior para a sustentabilidadeComportamentos ecológicosCompetências para a sustentabilidadeGreen universityHigher education for sustainabilityEcological behaviorCompetences for sustainabilityCNPQ::CIENCIAS SOCIAIS APLICADAS::ADMINISTRACAOContribuições para um modelo de universidade verde: competências e comportamentos para a sustentabilidadeContributions to a model of green university: competences and behaviours for sustainabilityinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersioninfo:eu-repo/semantics/doctoralThesisMadruga, Lúcia Rejane da Rosa Gamahttp://lattes.cnpq.br/6101538332418762Gomes, Clandia Maffinihttp://lattes.cnpq.br/2010827580929023Trevisan, Marcelohttp://lattes.cnpq.br/9922211479866264Brandli, Luciana Londerohttp://lattes.cnpq.br/4109261310326480Venzke, Cláudio Sennahttp://lattes.cnpq.br/6162789934377303http://lattes.cnpq.br/3128023764035312Beuron, Thiago Antonio6002000000066006f4307d7-0e31-4750-bf06-06fe63a4153900b2980f-94e6-459c-9cb3-31e4cf2155deaa9fffe9-f4c5-4af3-a7c7-c9973be3e627b0061a34-4d9c-4d9a-96de-23ec3a8775f7c72c4a3d-06cc-4eaf-9840-fe4c1ad83e7b34479c33-5fd5-4897-9c47-15704870c4d1reponame:Biblioteca Digital de Teses e Dissertações do UFSMinstname:Universidade Federal de Santa Maria (UFSM)instacron:UFSMORIGINALTES_PPGADMINISTRACAO_2016_BEURON_THIAGO.pdfTES_PPGADMINISTRACAO_2016_BEURON_THIAGO.pdfTese de Doutoradoapplication/pdf3520846http://repositorio.ufsm.br/bitstream/1/17983/1/TES_PPGADMINISTRACAO_2016_BEURON_THIAGO.pdfe10e3336a3d95ec5078aca1e9200a98eMD51CC-LICENSElicense_rdflicense_rdfapplication/rdf+xml;
