Resumo: Two experiments were carried out in the Aviculture sector at the Zootechny department of Federal University of Viçosa, with the aim to determine the energetic and digestible amino acid values in some broiler chicken feeds. In the first experiment, it was aimed to determine the values of apparent metabolizable energy (AME), and apparent metabolizable energy corrected for nitrogen balance (AMEn), and the chemical composition of the tested feeds. It was used the traditional excreta collection method with birds aged 14 to 24 days old, being five days for experimental diets adaptation and five days for total excreta collection. The animals were distributed in a completely randomized design with 11 treatments (one reference meal and ten test meals), six repetitions and six birds per experimental unit. The protein feeds replaced the reference meal in a 30% portion, and the glycerin replaced the reference meal in the 08% proportion. The chicks were lodged in metal set equipped with trays for excreta collection. The values of AMEn (kcal/kg) in the natural matter of tested feeds were: deactivated whole soybean with shuck, 2797 kcal/kg; deactivated whole soybean with no shuck, 3012 kcal/kg; soy protein concentrate 1, kcal/kg; soy protein concentrate 2, 2554 kcal/kg; semi-whole extruded soybean meal 2467 kcal/kg; soybean meal 1, 2221 kcal/kg; soybean meal 2, 2291 kcal/kg; soybean meal 3, 2167 kcal/kg; wheat gluten, 3813 kcal/kg; glycerin, 3336 kcal/kg. In the second experiment, it was aimed to determine the digestibility coefficients and the actual digestible amino acid values of the same feeds, except for the glycerin, by the ileal collection method. Twenty five to thirty day old animals were distributed in a completely randomized design. The birds were submitted to a five day adaptation period for the experimental diets, being these ones, a diet without protein (DWP), and the test meals were consisted by the DWP with addition of the tested feeds in substitution of starch. After the adaptation period, all the birds in each repetition were abated through cervical disjoint, opened in the abdominal cavity for content collection in the portion of terminal ileum. It was included 1% acid insoluble ash (AIA) in all the diets, as an indicator for determination of digestibility of the amino acids and protein and amino acid endogenous excretion. By the end, the obtained digests were weighed, freeze dried, processed and then, laboratorial analysis were conducted and the actual digestibility coefficients of the amino acids were determined. The lysine and methionine values of actual digestibility coefficients in percentage for the tested feeds were respectively: 88,99 and 87,74 for the whole deactivated soybean with shuck; 92,18 and 92,23 for the whole deactivated soybean without shuck; 96,64 and 95,65 for the soy protein concentrate 1; 97,00 and 96,95 for the soy protein concentrate 2; 90, 24 and 88,75 for the semi-whole extruded soybean meal; 95,40 and 96,94 for the soybean meal 1; 94,51 and 95, 77 for the soybean 2; 95,02 e 96,04 for the soybean meal 3; 83,53 and 93,58 for the wheat gluten.
