Resumo: | This research, linked to the Research Line "Training and action of the teaching professional and educational practices", of the Graduate Program in Education, Master's Degree, of the University of Westem São Paulo (Unoeste), originated in reflections on one of the ten general competencies of Basic Education, presented in the National Common Curriculum Base (NCCB), published in 2018, which provides that students understand, use and create Digital Information and Communication Technologies (DICT) to communicate, access and disseminate information, produce knowledge and solve problems. Understanding that students have the right to acquire this competence, we believe it is important to know their perceptions about the use of DICT. In this sense, the general objective of the research is to investigate the perceptions of students of a public school about the use of DICT. In order to achieve this goal, we define as specific objectives: to identify which DICT are part of the students´daily lives, inside and outside the school context; to investigate the use that students make of DICT, characterizing the frequency and purposes of use; to identify what students think about possible uses of DICT in the school context; to find out what students understand by a learning situation using DICT; to identify learning situations with TDIC that please and displease students; to seek the students´ perceptions about the uses of DICT in the school context and outside it. We adopted the qualitative approach with an explanatory descriptive design and used a questionnaire for data collection. The participants were 70 students from the 9th year of Elementary School, morning and early periods, of a public school in a small town in the west of the State of São Paulo. In organizing the data we used Bardin´s content analysis. We based the data analysis on the advances of DICT, on the characterization of generations and their relationship with technologies, on cyberspace and cyberculture, on the NCCB and on the impacts of DICT on students and teachers of public schools. The results reveal that the research participants, young people of Generation Z, who live with technologies since their birth, present characteristics of information consumers, using DICT as reproduction tools. The understanding the young people´s perceptions about the use of DICT may contribute to school actions that may favor the development of the mentioned competence of the NCCB. |

Entendendo que é direito dos(as) estudantes adquirirem essa competência, acreditamos ser importante conhecer as suas percepções sobre o uso das TDIC. Nesse sentido, o objetivo geral da pesquisa é investigar as percepções de estudantes de uma escola pública sobre o uso das TDIC. De modo a atingir esse objetivo, definimos como objetivos específicos: identificar quais TDIC fazem parte do dia a dia dos(as) alunos(as), dentro e fora do contexto escolar; averiguar o uso que os(as) alunos(as) fazem das TDIC, caracterizando-o quanto a frequência e finalidades de uso; identificar o que os(as) alunos(as) pensam sobre possíveis usos das TDIC no contexto escolar; averiguar o que os(as) alunos(as) entendem por uma situação de aprendizagem usando as TDIC; identificar situações de aprendizagem com TDIC que agradam e que desagradam os(as) alunos(as); buscar as percepções dos(as) alunos(as) sobre os usos das TDIC no contexto escolar e fora dele. Adotamos a abordagem qualitativa com delineamento descritivo explicativo e utilizamos um questionário para a coleta de dados. Os participantes foram 70 estudantes do 9º ano do Ensino Fundamental, períodos matutino e vespertino, de uma escola pública de uma cidade de pequeno porte do Oeste do Estado de São Paulo. Na organização dos dados utilizamos a análise de conteúdo de Bardin. Fundamentamos a análise dos dados nos avanços das TDIC, na caracterização das gerações e sua relação com as tecnologias, no ciberespaço e cibercultura, na BNCC e nos impactos das TDIC nos(as) alunos(as) e professores(as) da escola pública. Os resultados revelam que os(as) participantes da pesquisa, jovens da Geração Z, que convivem com as tecnologias desde o seu nascimento, apresentam caracteriscas de consumidores de informação, usando as TDIC como ferramentas de reprodução.
