Resumo: Executive functions (FE) are a set of higher-order cognitive processes that support several skills crucial to the development of adaptive behaviors in the face of environmental demands, to achieve specific goals. The quality of parental behaviors has been shown to be an important modulator of EF, so that parental sensitivity and support strategies are strongly associated with EF in children and adolescents. Objective: to develop and test the applicability of a computerized program for training parents to promote executive functions in their children. Method: the study was carried out in two stages. First, the activities of the training program were developed for parents to promote EF in children aged 7 to 10 years. The intervention was built in a computerized form, that is, through a website that can be used on a computer, notebook or tablet. The intervention activities had the purpose of promoting better working memory skills, planning, inhibitory control, ability to engage behavior towards goals and cognitive flexibility. The second stage was to verify the applicability of the intervention in a computerized way. 14 parents and their respective children participated in this research. The intervention lasted 8 weeks and was applied through parents, who received adequate training for this. A qualitative analysis was also made based on the report of parents and children through semi-structured interviews to verify the applicability of the program. Results: the program was easily carried out by the participants and they remained engaged from beginning to the end. The participants considered the program intuitive, easy to use and possible to be incorporated into the routine of parents and children. According to the parents' reports, the activities are compatible with the development of executive functions. It should be considered that the second stage of this study was conducted during the period of social isolation resulted from the COVID-19 pandemic, so the results obtained must be analyzed from this perspective. Conclusion: the intervention made available online favored the engagement of parents and children. Teaching parents how to develop executive functions in their children has proved to be an important strategy for the promotion of such functions.
