This dissertation analyzes the relationship between Graffiti and its political, poetic, transgressive, artistic and market bias over 50 years, from the national and international manifestations of the 1960s, with the city of São Paulo. From bibliographical researches and interviews with graffiti artists, he explored some of the different conceptual and artistic aspects that made and are part of Graffiti and Street Art, besides the recent ideological conflicts involving its producers. It addresses the political influence of international and national social movements that have created an environment conducive to the emergence of transgressive manifestations such as Political, Poetic and Pixo Graffiti with its anarchic character. It also presents the American aesthetic of Hip Hop in the culture of São Paulo Graffiti, the emergence of new concepts and a great plurality in the forms and styles of Street Art and consequent ideological crisis involving pixadores, grafiteiros (or muralists) as its relation with the sector public and private. He researched the history of the Paulista Artistic Graffiti that had as its main idealist Alex Vallauri that sought a more democratic art, very rich in modernist and contemporary references. In addition to the conceptual legacy of Vallauri, which is still applied in the Graffiti and Murals currently made in the city, a brief relation of modern and contemporary art and its association with the Establishment to analyze the migration of the aesthetics of Graffiti to the galleries and museums as their promising relationship with the art market.
