Resumo: | Motivated by the questioning made by the mathematician and computer scientist Alan Turing - "can machines think?" - in 1950, this research aims to investigate if, in dialogical communication between humans and chatterbots of Artificial Intelligence interaction may occur. The research was developed in the research group of Theories and Practices Discursive and Textual, specifically the line of research of Text, discourse and teaching: reading and writing processes of written and spoken text, Master's Program in Linguistics University Cruzeiro do Sul. The research has as corpus dialogues produced by the software of Artificial Intelligence Eugene Gootsman, winner of the event that promoted a competition of the Turing Test, organized by the University of Reading, at the Royal Society in London, in 2014; an interview conducted by the American news site TIME, and ELIZA, considered the first chatterbot, developed in 1966, by US computer scientist Joseph Weinzenbaum, in order to simulate the behavior of a rogerian psychotherapist through verbal language. The criterion adopted for development of the analysis of the texts that compose the corpus follows the methodological assumptions of the theoretical axis of pragmatic studies, being based on concepts of the Theory of Speech Acts proposed by Austin (1990), in studies referring to the principles that govern (1997), Wolfgang Iser (1999) and Jacques Moeschler (1986), and finally concepts related to intentionality in language, according to Searle (1995). The analyzes pointed out that chatterbots communicate adequately with humans, answer their questions, but these don’t follow the principles of verbal interaction that indicate that interlocutor has reconstructed implicitly expressed intentions. It’s possible to say that there is communication, however, there is no full interaction. |

It’s possible to say that there is communication, however, there is no full interaction.Motivada pelo questionamento feito pelo matemático e cientista da computação Alan Turing – “as máquinas podem pensar?” (can machines think?) –, em 1950, esta pesquisa tem por objetivo investigar, na comunicação dialogal de humanos com chatterbots de Inteligência Artificial, em que medida é possível ocorrer interação. A pesquisa foi desenvolvida no âmbito do grupo de pesquisa Teorias e Práticas Discursivas e Textuais, especificamente da linha de pesquisa de Texto, discurso e ensino: processos de leitura e produção de texto escrito e falado, do programa de Mestrado em Linguística da Universidade Cruzeiro do Sul. A pesquisa tem como corpus diálogos produzidos pelos softwares de Inteligência Artificial Eugene Gootsman, vencedor do evento que promovia uma competição do Teste de Turing, organizada pela universidade de Reading, na Royal Society, em Londres, no ano de 2014; uma entrevista feita pelo site norte-americano de notícias, TIME, e ELIZA, considerada o primeiro chatterbot, desenvolvido em 1966, pelo cientista da computação estadunidense Joseph Weinzenbaum, no intuito de simular o comportamento de uma psicoterapeuta rogeriana por meio da linguagem verbal. O critério adotado para o desenvolvimento da análise dos textos que compõem o corpus segue os pressupostos metodológicos do eixo teórico dos estudos pragmáticos, pautando-se nos conceitos da Teoria dos Atos de Fala proposta por Austin (1990), nos estudos referentes aos princípios que regem a interação verbal, tal como propõem Kerbrat-Orecchioni (1997), Wolfgang Iser (1999) e Jacques Moeschler (1986), e, finalmente, nos conceitos ligados à intencionalidade na linguagem, conforme Simon Dik (1997) e Searle (1995). As análises apontaram que os chatterbots comunicam-se adequadamente com os seres humanos, respondem às perguntas formuladas, mas não seguem os princípios da interação verbal que indicam que o interlocutor reconstruiu intenções manifestadas de forma implícita.
