This dissertation proposes an analysis of the relationships between communication, ancestry, and memory in the work “Sobrevivendo no Inferno”. The problem-question that guides the investigation is “How does Racionais MC'S mobilize the themes of violence, racism, and poverty in the album Sobrevivendo no inferno?” To answer this question, our main objective is to understand the work Sobrevivendo no Inferno as a cultural text, and its dimension as a semiotic product. The specific objectives: to understand the mobilizing aspects of the research (violence, racism, and poverty) as communicational codes of the work "Sobrevivendo Inferno"; to perceive theoretical elements of ancestry as possibilities and strategies for survival and confrontation of violence, racism, and poverty present in the work "Sobrevivendo no Inferno". To analyze semiotic codes that configure the work in its relationship with the 2024 carnival parade of Escola de Samba Vai-Vai and the plot “Capítulo 4, Versiculo 3 - Das Ruas Para o Povo, Hip-Hop: Um Manifesto Paulistano” and the resignification of the album. The methodology consists of bibliographic and documentary research, with semiotic analysis based on the semiotics of culture, the concepts of semiosphere and cultural texts, explosion and unpredictability, consumer culture, and the conceptualization of memory. The expected results include an understanding of the dimension between the knowledge of the sacred afro-diasporic in the musical work of the group Racionais MC'S, enabling perceptions about ancestry and cultural memory in the work that translates violence, racism, and poverty in the outskirts of São Paulo in Brazilian music.
