A partir disso, investigou-se a realidade do Centro Municipal de Educação Infantil Nossa Senhora da Paz, instituição de ensino pública municipal em atuação no sistema educacional de Teresina, no Estado do Piauí. A investigação centrou-se na importância e contribuição da ética para a prática pedagógica dos docentes, com intuito de comprovar como se vivenciam ou não os princípios éticos na gestão escolar numa perspectiva de organização da instituição. Além disso, observou-se a formação de profissionais com vistas ao exercício de uma prática pedagógica reflexiva e emancipatória. Em consonância com o foco de investigação, buscou-se fundamentação teórica a partir de concepções e comentários de autores entre os quais podem ser citados os nomes de Andrade, Perrenoud, Lück, Brasil e Salermo. Então, passou-se a construir uma base teórica em relação à temática posta em estudo, caracterizando esse primeiro momento da pesquisa como bibliográfica. Num segundo momento, estrutura-se uma base filosófica do estudo, sendo apreciadas as concepções de Aristóteles, Cortella, Amorim, Kohlberg e Imannuel Kant em relação ao conceito de ética e sua aplicação no cotidiano escolar. Utilizando-se dos conhecimentos teóricos adquiridos sobre gestão democrática e participativa, e de uma fundamentação teórica, a investigação chega ao campo prático que se consolida a partir da análise da unidade de ensino supracitada. Nesse contexto, foram realizadas leituras de documentos de suma importância, quais sejam: a Legislação da Educação Nacional Brasileira (Constituição Federal de 1988 e Lei de Diretrizes e Bases da Educação Nacional – LDB nº 9394/96), o Estatuto da Criança e do Adolescente, o Referencial Curricular da Educação Infantil, os Parâmetros Curriculares da Educação Infantil e os documentos da escola, como o Projeto Político Pedagógico e o Relatório de Planejamento, elaborado a partir de observações diretas simples e não estruturadas. A análise documental na unidade de ensino pesquisada possibilitou uma visão mais ampla da aplicabilidade dos princípios éticos no cotidiano da instituição educacional. Nesse aspecto, é pertinente enfatizar que a pesquisa é de caráter documental, uma vez que a análise proposta toma como referencial de apreciação a leitura dos documentos supracitados, o que possibilitou a chegada às considerações finais e assinalar a necessidade da continuidade do estudo em futuros projetos de um doutorado, no quais se possa ampliar a extensão da investigação e, certamente, os instrumentos de análise.This dissertation focus is ethics in the educational context. Thus, the reality of the Educational Childhood Municipal Center Our Lady of Peace, a public municipal educational institution working in the educational system in Teresina, in the state of Piaui, was investigated,. The investigation was centered on the importance and contribution of ethics for the teachers’ pedagogic practice with the intent of verifying how the ethical principles are lived out or not lived out in the school management in a perspective of the organization of the institution. Besides this, the training of professionals was observed aiming at a reflexive and emancipatory pedagogical practice. In line with the focus of the investigation, theoretical foundation was sought based on the conceptions and commentaries of authors among which can be cited the names of Andrade, Perrenoud, Lück, Brasil and Salermo. Then, a theoretical base began to be built in relation to the theme presented for study, this first moment of research being thus characterized as bibliographic. In a second moment, a philosophical base of study was structured, where the conceptions of Aristóteles, Cortella, Amorim, Kohlberg and Imannuel Kant are reviewed with regard to the concept of ethics and its application to daily school life. Using the theoretical knowledge acquired about democratic and participative management and having a theoretical foundation, the investigation arrives at the practical field which is consolidated based on the analysis of the teaching entity cited above. In this context, readings of documents of extreme importance were carried out, these being the Legislations of Brazilian National Education (Federal Constitution of 1988 and the Law of Guidelines and Basis of National Education – LDB nº 9394/96), the Child and Adolescent Statute, the Curricular Referencial for Primary Education, the Curricular Parameters of Primary Education and the documents of the school., such as the Political Pedagogical Project and Planning Report, elaborated based on direct simple and non-structured observations. The documental analysis of the teaching entity researched made it possible to have a broader vision of the applicability of the ethical principles in the daily life of the educational institution.
