Resumo: This study aims to report as the profession of nursing began in the city of Vitória da Conquista, Bahia, as well as what professionals participated and are still part of it. Therefore, it was necessary to traverse paths in search of documents in order to continue the process, and propose new directions for the historical record of that ploy. It was noted certain difficulty of nursing professionals in making recordings of their practice, considering the lack of importance given to the systematic filing of documents in which were recorded the deployment of institutions, training courses and qualifications for nursing. In addition, some situations and forms of strict management nursing exist because we inherited the leadership base of our forerunners, who, according to the history, were very strict, allowing no argument on the part of their subordinates or no interference in their decisions. However, advances were observed from the implementation of various courses on technical level in the city, encouraging the represented category by the new staff presented to the market to give importance to recording and archiving the memory of the professional category, technicians and nurses.

Para tanto, foi necessário percorrer caminhos em busca de documentos, de modo a dar continuidade ao processo, além de propor novas direções para o registro histórico desse ofício. Observou-se certa dificuldade dos profissionais de enfermagem em realizar os registros de sua prática, considerando-se a pouca importância dada à sistematização do arquivamento documental em que foram registradas a implantação das instituições, os cursos de capacitação e a qualificação dos profissionais de enfermagem. Além disso, algumas situações e formas de gerenciamento rigoroso de enfermagem se devem ao fato de termos herdado a base de liderança de nossas precursoras, que segundo a história, eram muito rígidas, sem permitir qualquer argumento por parte dos seus liderados ou interferências em suas decisões. Entretanto, foram observados avanços a partir da implantação de vários cursos de nível técnico e superior no Município, incentivando a categoria representada pelos novos profissionais apresentados ao mercado a darem importância ao registro e ao arquivamento da memória da categoria profissional, dos técnicos e dos enfermeiros.Made available in DSpace on 2016-07-25T15:39:20Z (GMT).
