Diante disso, constata-se que muitos deles chegam às instituições de abrigo com comprometimentos físicos, psicológicos, cognitivos e sociais. Entretanto, a inclusão em ambientes atentos às suas singularidades demonstra que tais dificuldades podem ser minimizadas para que floresçam potencialidades e resiliências. Isso leva a pensar que o afastamento familiar imposto pela institucionalização pode ser compensado por interações de qualidade no espaço institucional. Diante das constatações apresentadas, este estudo buscou compreender os processos relacionais que se estabelecem entre as crianças e adolescentes institucionalizados e os cuidadores das instituições de abrigo. A pesquisa desenvolveu-se em duas instituições de abrigo não governamentais da cidade do Rio Grande/RS, nominadas respectivamente Inst. A e Inst. B. Buscou-se evidenciar as concepções dos coordenadores, das crianças/adolescentes e dos próprios cuidadores sobre o papel de proteção do trabalhador do ambiente institucional, assim como reconhecer as principais características que sustentam as referidas interações. A análise dos dados obtidos se efetivou a partir dos pressupostos da Abordagem Bioecológica do Desenvolvimento Humano. Foram identificados os processos de interação das pessoas(coordenadores/crianças e adolescentes/cuidadores), os objetos e símbolos (percepções e crenças) dos dois ambientes imediatos (contextos institucionais) em um período de tempo limitado. Os resultados obtidos demonstraram que as concepções dos coordenadores exercem influência nas formas de organização do ambiente institucional com reflexo nas concepções dos demais integrantes dos segmentos pesquisados. Quanto à ótica das crianças e adolescentes, foi solicitada a eleição justificada dos cuidadores com quem eles estabelecem interações significativas. A última etapa das entrevistas consistiu em investigar a visão dos cuidadores eleitos (pelos coordenadores e pelas crianças e adolescentes abrigados nas duas instituições). Eles discursaram sobre seu trabalho na instituição e apontaram as experiências pessoais que julgam influenciar sua atuação profissional. A transversalidade da análise das concepções dos três segmentos pesquisados possibilitou constatar que a tríade Acolhimento, Afetividade e Aprendizagem Recíproca são dimensões presentes na fala de todos os segmentos entrevistados. Essas propriedades relacionais se estabelecem quando as pessoas se tornam importantes umas para as outras. Trata-se de constatações que vêm ao encontro do conceito de “outro significativo”. Tal categoria descreve figuras que, por sua importância interacional, podem transformar em oportunidades o que parecia ser uma inevitável trajetória de risco.There are several evidences on the impact of maternal and affective deprivation for the healthy development of children and adolescents. Due to that it has been found that many children and adolescents arrive at the shelter institutions with problems in their physical, psychological, cognitive and social aspects. Therefore, their inclusion in attentive environments has demonstrated that these difficulties may be minimized to give place to potentialities and resilience. It can be thought that the family distance imposed by the institutionalization can be compensated by the quality of interactions in the institutional space. This study aimed to understand the relational processes established among institutionalized children and adolescents and their caretakers in the shelter institutions. The research was developed in two nongovernmental shelter institutions of Rio Grande/RS named respectively - Inst. A and Inst. B. The investigation searched the conceptions of the coordinators, of the children/adolescents and of the caretakers, on the protective role of the worker's of the institutional space, as well as aimed to recognize the main characteristics that sustain these interactions. The data analysis followed the propositions of the Bioecological of Human Development. They were identified the processes of the people's interaction (coordinators / children and adolescents/ caretakers), the objects and symbols (perceptions and beliefs) of the two immediate environments (institutional contexts) in a limited period of time. The results demonstrated that the coordinators' conceptions have influence in the forms of organization of the institutional environmental which reflects in the conceptions of the other members of the researched segments. Concerning the children' and adolescent´ views it was requested their justified election of a single caretaker with whom they establish significant interactions. The last stage of the interviews consisted of investigating the caretakers' vision (by the coordinators and by the children and adolescents sheltered in the two institutions). They discoursed on their work in the institution and pointed their personal experiences that on their judgment influence his/her professional performance. The transversality of the analysis of the conceptions of the three researched segments made possible to verify that the triad Reception, Affectivity and Reciprocal Learning are the present dimensions in the speech of all of the interviewed segments. These relational properties are established when the persons become important one for the others. These findings prescribe the concept of "other significant".
