Maturidade, Modelo de liderança, Produtividade e a sua Inter-relação: um estudo de caso em Pernambuco

This study seek to describe the relationship among the variables maturity, leadership model and productivity within an industrial context in the state of Pernambuco. It uses as a basic concept: the contingency theories of leadership established by Hersey and Blanchard (1986), which correlates the style of the leader with the situation in which it is inserted; contemporary approaches about leadership (Transactional, Transformational and Servant Leadership presented by BURNS , 1978; BASS, 1985; GREENLEAF, 1977), and a measure of performance (productivity according to equation presented by Moreira, 2009). The industrial context takes place in an abrasive industrial manufacturing unit of the Saint-Gobain of Brazil, located in the city of Igarassu, north coast of Pernambuco. This plant consists of three macro sectors working in three shifts routine. A total of 110 officials is allocated in this unit, but only 79 (75 shopfloor workers and 4 medium level leader) are the focus of the research. The percentage of responses to the questionnaires from shopfloor workers was 77% while form the medium level leader was 100%. One of the evidences of the work is the proof for this sample, that the level of maturity is not related to the age of the subject or level of education, leaving room for future studies that seek to understand the influence of this variable in the permutation. It also showed the convergence of perceptions of subordinates and supervisors when the level of maturity and leadership model, while it was found that the extent and the level of maturity of the subordinated evolved criticality in charge of examining leadership models also grew.
