Resumo: This research investigated the variable phenomenon “P4 pronominal expression”; in particular, the behavior of the variants nós and a gente in the subject function in the speech of 16 informants from the region of Anori, in the countryside of Amazonas, it is based on the theoretical-methodological assumptions of Variationist Sociolinguistics, according to Weinreich, Labov and Herzog (2006 [1968]). We also fundamentally consider Omena (1986, 1998, 2003), Tarallo (1986), Scherre (1998), Lopes (1993, 1998, 2003, 2004), Labov (2008 [1972]), Tamanine (2010), Vieira (2014), Araújo (2016), Mendes (2019), Ribeiro (2020) e Fernandes (2021). Based on these assumptions, we assume that extralinguistic and linguistic conditioning factors influence the use of the variants nós and a gente, described in this study. The specific objectives are as follow: a) to describe the variants of the variable phenomenon “pronominal expression of P4” in the speech of the inhabitants of the urban and rural regions of the municipality of Anori; b) to analyze the groups of linguistic and extralinguistic factors that condition the use of the variants nós and a gente in the speech of the inhabitants of the urban and rural regions of the municipality of Anori. The methodology used consisted of field research, speech data collection, graphematic transcription according to Preti's parameters (1999) and statistical treatment using the Goldvarb X program (Sankoff; Tagliamonte; Smith, 2005).The following groups of extralinguistic and linguistic factors were controlled: sex/gender, age group, schooling, location, subject completion, syntactic function, pronoun reference, verb agreement, verb tense, parallelism between subjects and phonic salience. As far as the groups of factors are concerned, after the appropriate exclusions and groupings, the program selected the following as favoring the application of the rule for a gente: age group (25 to 59 years; 60 years or older); education level (low: no education or up to elementary school I, and high: elementary school II to high school); subject completion (completed and null); verb tense (present indicative, present subjunctive, past perfect indicative, future past indicative, past imperfect indicative, past imperfect subjunctive, past perfect indicative, future subjunctive, infinitive, future present indicative and imperative); reference of the pronoun - extended I (determinate/indeterminate); parallelism between the subjects (yes and no); and location (urban and rural areas of Anori). The groups of factors sex/gender, syntactic function and verb agreement, which were not selected and excluded from the probabilistic analysis, were analyzed qualitatively and by percentage. Our sample included 1,351 occurrences of P4 variation. The general results indicate that the innovative form a gente is preferred by anorienses, corresponding to 64% of occurrences (864 cases), while conservative variant nós stands as second option, regarding 36% (487 cases).

The general results indicate that the innovative form a gente is preferred by anorienses, corresponding to 64% of occurrences (864 cases), while conservative variant nós stands as second option, regarding 36% (487 cases).Esta pesquisa investigou o fenômeno variável “expressão pronominal de P4”; em particular, o comportamento das variantes nós e a gente na função de sujeito na fala de 16 informantes da região de Anori, interior do Amazonas, com base nos pressupostos teórico-metodológicos da Sociolinguística Variacionista, conforme Weinreich, Labov e Herzog (2006 [1968]) e Labov (2008 [1972]). Também consideramos fundamentalmente Omena (1986, 1998, 2003), Tarallo (1986), Scherre (1998), Lopes (1993, 1998, 2003, 2004), Tamanine (2010), Vieira (2014), Araújo (2016), Mendes (2019), Ribeiro (2020) e Fernandes (2021). A partir desses pressupostos, assumimos que condicionadores extralinguísticos e linguísticos influenciam o uso das variantes nós e a gente, descritas neste estudo. Os objetivos específicos foram os seguintes: a) descrever as variantes do fenômeno variável “expressão pronominal de P4” no falar dos moradores das regiões urbana e rural do município de Anori (AM); e b) analisar os grupos de fatores linguísticos e extralinguísticos que condicionam o uso das variantes nós e a gente no falar dos moradores das regiões urbana e rural do município de Anori (AM). A metodologia utilizada consistiu em pesquisa de campo, através da coleta de dados de fala; depois dessa coleta, houve a transcrição grafemática dos dados obtidos, de acordo com os parâmetros de Preti (1999) e, em seguida, foi realizado o tratamento estatístico pelo programa Goldvarb X (Sankoff; Tagliamonte; Smith, 2005). Foram controlados os seguintes grupos de fatores extralinguísticos e linguísticos: sexo/gênero, faixa etária, escolaridade, localidade, preenchimento do sujeito, função sintática, referência do pronome, concordância verbal, tempo verbal, paralelismo entre os sujeitos e saliência fônica. No que diz respeito aos grupos de fatores, após as devidas exclusões e amálgamas, o programa selecionou os seguintes como favorecedores da aplicação da regra para a gente: faixa etária (25 a 59 anos; 60 anos ou mais); escolaridade (baixa: sem escolaridade ou até o ensino fundamental I, e alta: ensino fundamental II até o ensino médio); preenchimento do sujeito (preenchido e nulo); tempo verbal (presente do indicativo, presente do subjuntivo, pretérito perfeito do indicativo, futuro do pretérito do indicativo, pretérito imperfeito do indicativo, pretérito imperfeito do subjuntivo, pretérito mais-que-perfeito do indicativo, futuro do subjuntivo, infinitivo, futuro do presente do indicativo e imperativo); referência do pronome – (determinada/indeterminada); paralelismo entre os sujeitos (sim e não); e localidade (zona urbana e zona rural de Anori). Os grupos de fatores sexo/gênero, função sintática e concordância verbal, não selecionados e excluídos da análise, foram analisados qualitativamente e por meio percentual. Nossa amostra contou com 1.351 ocorrências de variação em P4. Os resultados gerais indicam que a forma inovadora a gente é preferida pelos anorienses, correspondendo a 64% das ocorrências (864 casos), enquanto a variante conservadora nós fica como segunda opção, com frequência de 36% (487 casos).Fundação de Amparo à Pesquisa do Estado do AmazonasNorte-1application/pdfporUniversidade Federal do AmazonasPrograma de Pós-Graduação em Letras PPGLBrasilFaculdade de LetrasSociolinguísticaPortuguês brasileiroVariação pronominal de P4Anori (Amazonas)CNPQ, LINGUISTICA, LETRAS E ARTES, LINGUISTICA, SOCIOLINGUISTICA E DIALETOLOGIAUm olhar sociolinguístico sobre a variação nós/a gente no falar Anoriense (AM)A sociolinguistic look at the variation nós/a gente in Anoriense (AM) speechUna mirada sociolingüística a la variación nós/a gente no hablar Anoriense (AM)info:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersioninfo:eu-repo/semantics/masterThesisinfo:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessreponame:Repositório Comum do Brasil - Depositainstname:Instituto Brasileiro de Informação em Ciência e Tecnologia (Ibict)instacron:IBICTTEXT1- DISSERTAÇÃO_FINAL_ROMÁRIO NEVES COELHO.pdf.txtWritten by FormatFilter org.dspace.app.mediafilter.TikaTextExtractionFilter on 2025-06-06T20:18:28Z (GMT).Extracted texttext/plain103120https://deposita.ibict.br/bitstreams/528dc993-e6a8-4356-a6e0-afbbad40363b/download91831dd3b4c8a025db463de2be2c65abMD53falseAnonymousREADTHUMBNAIL1- DISSERTAÇÃO_FINAL_ROMÁRIO NEVES COELHO.pdf.jpgWritten by FormatFilter org.dspace.app.mediafilter.PDFBoxThumbnail on 2025-06-06T20:18:28Z (GMT).Generated Thumbnailimage/jpeg2743https://deposita.ibict.br/bitstreams/65f401fd-30d0-4c59-a5da-6c5bed3c7a36/download5ecec5a61117630e1746410f218bc44cMD54falseAnonymousREADLICENSElicense.txtWritten by org.dspace.content.LicenseUtilstext/plain;
