This study addressed the implementation of Reliable Digital Repositories (RDC-Arq) in Brazil, focusing on the organizational and technical conditions required for the creation and management of these systems. The main objective was to investigate current practices and challenges faced by Brazilian institutions in implementing RDC-Arq, analyzing issues such as mapping the sectors involved, allocation of financial and human resources, technological infrastructure, and digitization of physical archives. The methodology adopted was qualitative, using documentary analysis and case studies of institutions that have already implemented or are in the process of implementing RDC-Arq. The research also included interviews with professionals involved in the implementation of digital preservation models. The results revealed that, although many institutions have already identified the need to implement RDC- Arq and allocated human resources to the project, the lack of specific budget and insufficient technological infrastructure are significant obstacles. Digitization of physical documents still represents a significant challenge for many institutions. The conclusion of the study points to the need for greater strategic planning, adequate allocation of resources, and improvements in technological integration to ensure the effectiveness and sustainability of RDC-Arq. The research contributes to the understanding of the challenges faced by Brazilian institutions and offers guidelines for the successful implementation of reliable digital repositories.
