This work aims to show an analysis of the trade sector in the Oiapoque county, contextualizing the perspective of foreign trade between Brazil and France. The Oiapoque county has territory within the limits of the Brazilian border strip, being considered a twin city of São Jorge county in French Guiana / France, a country belonging to the European Union block. These features contribute to an internationalized vision of the region in a geopolitical conception of integration and economic development through the National Development Axes from highway 210, known as the north perimeter road to the Brazilian North Arch and the 156 BR to the Guiana Shield Axis, being a strategic region to thinking about economic development in the regional, national and international aspect. The research was exploratory, considering qualitative and quantitative data. The result of the research showed that the Oiapoque city represents the 5th largest economy in the state. In 2020, the service sector concentrated 90.2% of the gross domestic product, industry 6.1% and livestock 3.7%. Commerce was the sector that had the highest number of establishments opened between 2010 and 2020, having as main economic activity developed the retail trade. Employees with formal registered ties mostly had completed high school, with an average salary of 1.01 to 1.5 salaries and aged between 18 and 24 years. Regarding foreign trade, the main destination for the municipality's exports is French Guiana and imports are mostly from China.
